Cardabilities Reveal Day!

Good morning friends! Happy Wednesday to you all! I'm excited to share my card with you today...it is the 6th sketch from the Cardabilities sketch blog. I love this sketch and think Karan is a great sketch artist!! Be sure to take a moment and look at the fun from the other DT members...it's bound to be a inspirational few minutes!!
I've been wanting to use more purple...I love it, but don't use it often. I went with Lavender Moon, Plum Pudding and Lemon Tart from PTI for my color palette. I stamped the Plum card with the large polkas from Polka Dot BasicsII, then added my Lavender Moon layer. I used my border punch from SU, on the Lemon Tart paper, then mounted it to the Lavender layer. I stamped the hot air balloons from Everyday Button Bits with Plum ink and added some Lemon Tart buttons for the tops of the balloons.

My Lemon Tart circle in the corner has been stamped with polka dots as well, in lemon tart ink--in real life they are very lovely--not so much in the photo! I used my nesties to cut the circle and scallop circle. I stamped the sentiment from Signature Greetings and then added a little plum paper behind...and there you have it!!

I hope you have a great one...and just another reminder about Cards For Grace drive going on now...here's the info again!! Make it great!!

Cool Birthday

Hey friends. I hope you've had a great Tuesday! We've had basketball camp, dentist visits and a lot of playing!! I've had some time to step away from the fun and get a little work done! We've got a load of birthday mail to get out tomorrow for early July birthday's so here goes one of a few birthday cards to share!

I went to one of my all time favorite sets from LAD, Little Monsters. I love that I can use this little girlie monster for feminine cards and the other monsters can be for more masculine cards. I love the fun sentiment...just a fun set all around!
I paired my little monstress with some Basic Grey "Green at Heart" paper. I love the colors and think it's a fun girlie card! I colored her in with copics then added some Ripe Avocado grass, punched with my MS grass punch. I added a Rapsberry Fizz ribbon and called it good!

Before I end this post, I wanted to bring your attention to a wonderful cause. Jennifer McGuire and a few other fantastic girls are have been doing a card drive for seriously ill children--it's called Cards for Kids. I've been participating in the drive for about 6 months, and find so much happiness sharing a little bit of joy in the mailbox of these sick kids! My students in my card classes have been making and writing notes and it makes them SO happy to share...so my plea is for those of you that might have a "few" extra cards hanging around your desk, please take a moment and send a little happy note to brighten up a wonderful child's day!!

You can get all the information about the drive here, please take a second!! Today I learned about a little girl named Grace that just lost her twin sister to a 2 year battle with cancer. Jennifer has agreed to accept cards for Grace (who is healthy and just hurting from losing her sister), through the end of July. I'll be getting a load of cards in the mail soon, but wanted to share this just in case anyone reading this feels inclined to be involved!! My kids love the feeling of making something special for these kids...and just wanted to share the love!!

I hope you have a great night...and be sure to stop by tomorrow, it is the 30th which means the Cardabilities DT will have another revealing of the next sketch! It will be a great one...toodles for now!!

Happy Birthday

Good morning friends! I hope you are enoying a wonderful weekend! We've had a great one, been blessed with great weather and are really enjoying the relaxation of Summer!! We went to Toy Story 3, and it was fantastic!! It made me cry...I don't want my little peeps to grow up!! Anyway, after a BBQ some homemade ice cream and a few games, my Saturday completely ran away with me!!

I needed a quick birthday card the other day, and knowing how great these banners, from Cutting Cafe, are, I knew they would bring an instant BANG for my buck. I paired the banner image with some Raspberry Fizz patterned paper and am SO happy with the simple but perfect results!
I'm sure there will be more of these clean and simple b.day cards in my not too distant future!!

Regina has posted the new DT members over on the Cutting Cafe site, and also posted a fun 2 for 1 special...so run and fill up your cart with fun goodies!! The special will last through Monday the 28th.

Hope you have a great day today and I'll see you soon!!

A Little Window Joy

Good morning friends, and happy Friday!! Happy to have the weekend upon us, we're taking the kids(let's be honest, I'm just as excited as they are)to see Toy Story 3 tomorrow...we LOVE Toy Story and are really excited to see the new show!! I've been working on some projects to make my house happy...there are all sorts of projects swimming around in my head and I'm excited to get them into my house and out of my head!!

I saw some flowers that I really loved today, I've got this great set of vases in my kitchen window and I thought these white flowers would look perfect for the summer! However, I looked at their price tag and per stem they were WAY too much! So, I looked and looked, and took a photo with my phone...and knew I could make something similar. So, here is what I came up with!I went to my stash of white coffee filters and started the layering! I used about 5 filters per flower. I layered them up, tucked the center in a bit and then stapled them to make them a bit smaller than a full sized filter. I added some Spring Moss cardstock circles to the center of the flowers, followed by a button. I used green wire floral stems and the really fluffed the filters. I added then to the vases...and there you have it!

Here is a closer view of them. I'm really excited about how they turned out and they look VERY similar to the flowers I saw at the store today! Doesn't it make you happy to use what you have to create something you really want!? It sure does me!! And my brain is all sorts of into this mode now.

I have to share something my son (8 in a couple of weeks) said to me yesterday. "Mom, you are so good at making things! I love it when you make things to put up in our house!!" It made my heart a bit happy and thankful that he appreciates and notices the things I do to make our house a home!!
Have a great one friends...now I'll save my Cutting Cafe post for tomorrow...stay tuned! Thanks a bundle for stopping by!! Make it great...

Eifel For You...

So, hello and happy Thursday! I've been enjoying a sunny busy day filled week with my kidlets! I'm pretty sure that my summer schedule will stay this way, so just to let you know, I'll probably be posting about 3 days a week, instead of daily...just too much excitement!:) I've been crafting, but a lot of non paper items...I'll share them as I get the fun projects finished!!

So, here is a fun little number from the LAD July Mix...isn't that a great image? Yes, I LOVE it!!
I think this Basic Grey paper is very much the look I associate with our time in Paris...so I thought it would pair nicely with the stamped image!!

Hope you are enjoying your summer....have a great one!! I'll be back tomorrow with some Cutting Cafe goodness....YEA!!

The combination of papers from Kaisercrafts makes me so happy!! I love the bright contrasting colors...yum-o! I used some Summer Sunrise ribbon, ink and cardstock, and my trusty MS butterfly punch...oh and Kaisercraft pearls!

Friends...

Aren't friends the greatest?! I love having great friends...thanks to you all for being fun friends too...blogland is so much fun!! I want to share a little something made from the new July Mix from LAD. The sketch for this card was from Paper Crafts a few weeks ago--I've had the image of the sketch in my head since I first saw it and I'm happy to finally have made something with it!
I used a cute little flower image and stamped in onto 8 punched circles. I colored them in and then mounted them onto cardstock. I added some buttons and then added the sentiment.

I'm off to get the boys ready for a Father and Son's Campout this weekend...so we'll have some fun Mom and Girls time here at the house this weekend....yea!!

Have a great one and thanks a bundle for stopping by!!

Today is the LAD DT Challenge--we were given a photo as inspiration and this is my card. I love this flower image from the July Mix. I wanted to keep the card super simple but am really happy with the way it turned out!
I used some Summer Sunrise, Sweet Blush and Habiscus Burst for my colors. I love these together and love the soft feeling this card has! The ribbon is retired from SU and I love it to pieces...and then I added a little bling to each flower center.

life is good...

Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a great weekend! We enjoyed some wonderful weather and took the kids hiking! It was so great...everyone did awesome! Even little Ruby(2) wanted no help the whole way, she is a big girl and can do it all too!! We enjoyed some of the magnificant beauty around us and are so thankful for the great weather!!

The great weather has inspired my card today...I just refilled the load of "Otter Pops" into the freezer, as we're really enjoying them when the sun shines! With just a couple days of school left, I'm ready for some lazy (ha ha ha) days of summer!!
This great image is from the June Monthly Mix "Life is Good" from LAD. I combined some great colors/patterns from a favorite Cosmo Cricket paper pack...great fresh summer colors! I paper pieced the umbrella, the cusion on the lounge chair, and even the beach ball got a bit! I paired the paper up with some Soft Suede(su) and used a SU scallop border punch and vanilla ribbon for some fun details. My flowers are from prima and the brad is from SU. The layout for the card was inspired by the LAD sketch for the week, can you believe I made a card and posted it on the day the challenge came out?! Not normal for me...but it feels good!

Thanks a bundle for stopping by! I hope you have a great one! Tomorrow is a fun LAD Mix Blog Hop, so check back for more fun, and some peeks at the NEW Mix for July! Make it great!!

Happy Birthday!

Good morning friends! I hope you are having a good Friday thus far! We've got a load of fun planned for today and maybe even a camping trip this weekend! I hope the weather man is correct in saying we've got a couple of days w/o rain!

Today the Elzybells DT is participating with Elizabeth to celebrate Elzybells' 2nd Birthday! There are a load of great deals over on Elizabeth's Blog, be sure to take a look at the Birthday Bash info!! So we were all supposed to make 2 birthday card with some of our favorite stamps...ok, twist my arm! Who doesn't need to make a couple of birthday cards!?
For this first card I used Floral Fervour, and the sentiment is from the Floral tags circle stamp set. I used Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss and New Leaf for my color selection.
For this second card, I used some MM patterned paper and then used the Romeo and Juliet stamp...along with the happy birthday sentiment as mentioned above. I colored my birdies with copics and added a little bit of bling to each flower center. I colored my rhinestones with my copics to match the colors of my card...LOVE that about copics! I used the CPS sketch 170 for my layout...gotta love great sketches!!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Next week is full of fun, new stamps and the end of school....it's all good! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Take care and make it great!!

Bingo!

Howdy friends! Happy Wednesday...I hope all is well with you in your part of the world! I'm doing well and am exctied to share my project today with you! I recently received the Cutting Cafe Bingo Card set...and let's just say it was love at first sight! My kids are dreaming of fun thigns to do with what I've got printed...yea for those creative juices!!
I wanted to make a quick little thank you card for a friend and thought this little number would be fun! I printed the card onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock and then mounted it on Aqua Mist and made a little Hawaiian Shores scallop across the bottom of the card. I wrapped it around with some Aqua Mist ribbon, added a fun pink flower from Prima-and added an Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores button.

These colors are super bright and happy...we've had a LOT of rain the last few weeks and I'm hoping for lovely summer weather to appear any moment...but I'd better not hold my breath....

Hope you are doing well. Thanks a bundle for stopping by! Take care and make it a great one!!

Yankee Doodle!

Hello friends. I fee like I just keep running a bit further behind than I'd like to this week, I'm sure it has roots due to the long weekend that messed up my schedule! I can't get the day of the week straight to save my life!:) But the sun is shining today!! We went to the school to have a picnic with my son and the sun was out...and my girls loved being at lunch with their brother...it's a good day!!

I wante to share a couple samples of a fun new LAD single, his name, Yankee Doodle! Isn't he fun!? I'm sure there will be a few more of him around....with the 4th of July just around the corner!!
I wanted to keep with the red/white/blue, and just colored him in with copics. I used my star punches to make the background. My star punches were so happy to get so much face time...it's been a while since they got to play! I also used the sketch from LAD this week for this top card. You can see the sketch here.

For this second card, the blue stars are actually cut out of the white card, then I just attached a blue layer under the front flap--and the red stars are added to the card, making a couple fun textures.
Hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to check out the garage sale items on my boutique page!! Make it great!

Hey Sunshine!

Good afternoon friends. I giggled a little while I typed the title of this post, "Hey Sunshine" as it pours rain outside! I needed a little bright sunshine in my life today!! As you can tell from the photo, it's dark and rainy outside!:) So, we just smile, enjoy the sweaters, dinner in the crockpot and remind ourselves that we live in the Northwest!

I used LAD May Mix "Dream Big" in this card, I love this image...doesn't Jos have such great style? Like I said, I was in need of a bit of sunshine so I pulled out this stamp, and it's sentiment says "Hey sunshine, hope your day is bright!" Perfect for a day like today!
I kept the colors simple, Summer Sunrise from PTI and white. I think I'll go perch this in my kitchen window for a little happy reminder!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by! I've updated and edited on my Garage Sale page, a lot of colors are moving, but there are still some fantastic deals to be had over on my boutique page!! You can select the Boutique Tab across the top of the blog and find some sweet deals!! Make it great!!

We're working toward the end of the school year and a bit of fun that goes along with the end of everything...such a fun time to look forward to not having to send the little ones to school...I LOVE summer!!

I've got a another little Cute Critters from Cutting Cafe to share with you today...these little lady bugs are so cute!!
I used some American Crafts paper and some ribbon that had been on a gift recently recieved...isn't it great ribbon!? I colored my lady bugs with copics, added a couple of gems, which are hard to see in the photo, but are there. Simple layout, and a fun card to add to a littl giftie....
