Happy Birthday

Good Morning friends. I this week is treating you well! I have a card that was a bit outside my comfort zone to share today! I was inspired by Virginia's View Challenge...and decided to "watercolor" a bit! Oh, how scary for me!!

I first used versamark ink and inked up a floral Heidi Swapp stencil. Then I used HA white embossing powder and embossed the stencil image. I pulled out my distress inks...those are SO fun! I'm all new to distress ink and I have to tell you how much I adore it!! So, after a bit of distress ink, I decided it needed a little bit of shimmer...you can't see from the photo(and I couldn't get a good photo of it to save my life!) but I used Heidi Swapp gold color mist over the top of the embossing and distress ink, so there is a fantastic gold shimmer to the background that is lovely IRL!

I used the current Cardabilities sketch, #94 for my layout. I used my notched flower and turning a new leaf die for the flowers and leaves. My sentiment in lovely Delicata Golden Glitz ink is from one of the heart to heart stamp sets, also from PTI.
I am glad I am being brave...trying new things and stretching my comfort zone! Here's to more challenges and stretching ourselves!! Take care, see you tomorrow and thanks for stopping by!!

Cardabilities Sketch 28

Hello! Happy Wednesday to you all! Today is a little sad for me, this will be my last sketch with the Cardabilities Design Team. It's been a wonderful experience to work with Karan, who is seriouly AWESOME!! The other designers and well, the people that have made Cardabilities what it is! I was part of the first team...and seeing us be at sketch 28 is so fun!! I'll still likely be playing along with the sketches, they really great for use over and over again!

So, my take on sketch 28 is here. I LOVE this image from the LAD Spring Mix, Follow Your Dreams. I love the romantic feel of this particular image! I paired it up with some fancy shmancy paper that I love!! It's from SU and retired a while ago...but I still love it!!
Be sure to head over to the Cardabilities blog to see what the other designers have in store for us today! It's always such fun to see what everyone does with the same sketch!!

Take care, have a wonderful one...and make it great!!

Cardabilities Sketch Reveal!

Good morning friends! Where did this week go..? Dr. appointments, preparing for our new bundle to join us...trick or treating at Daddy's office, Fall parties at school...it's been a great week!

Today is the 30th, and thus the day to reveal a new Cardabilities Sketch with you! This is sketch #14, isn't it a great one!? I'm excited to share my take on the sketch with you! With tomorrow being Halloween, I thought this saying would be perfect! I must admit that I do LOVE this stamp...so fun! This great stamp is found in the October Monthly Mix, Sweet and Spooky , from LAD. I must admit I LOVE this mix...perhaps my favorite one yet!

I started with a black card, added a layer of pumpkin pie cardstock and then some MM patterened paper. I think the tulle on this card turned out so fun! I used a lighter to burn around the edges--and made some holes in side--didn't it turn out spooky!? I just used the adhesive on the back of the black oval to attach the tulle to the card. I stamped the image and then used smoe distress ink to make the vanilla cardstock a bit more aged. I added a black button on to of a tulle bow and then added an orange spider! Isn't it fun to have a spider that is 3d with the other 2 stamps spiders?! The spiders are also from the Sweet and Spooky stamp set.

Be sure to get over to the Cardabilities Blog to check out the other designs from the design team...I'm sure you'll find a load of inspiration!! Have a great day...and a wonderful weekend!! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cardabilities Sketch Reveal!

Morning friends! Hope you are all having a wonderful day...October 15th, can you belive it!? October is halfway over...a few more Halloween bits to share! Today is the Cardabilities Reveal for Sketch #13! I've had a bit of fun with spiders this holiday...love these little guys!

Run over to the Cardabilities Blog to see the sketch and get a little preview of the fun things the design has to share!
I dug through my stash of things that have been neglected for a while...and found these great green Hambly Screens...love them to pieces!! I rubbed one onto some basic gray paper from SU and then just used my two little hands to tear the paper into a circle to give a bit more "spooky" look to the card. I also grabbed some rub-ons from Kaisercrafts for my "boo"...aren't they great!? My paper is from Pink Paisley and...oh, I used some great tinsel-like glitter in Onyx, from Martha Stewart on a strip of sticky strip to add a bit of dimension...I haven't done that in forever and it's such a fun effect! I added a bow, some buttons from PTI and then finished the card off with three eight-legged friends!

This card made it's way downstairs and is being displayed as part of our Halloween decor...so fun!

Thanks a bundle for stopping by today! I've got another post for today...new LAD stamps! Have a great one and see you soon!!

Cardabilities Sketch 11 Reveal Day!

Good morning friends! Happy Wednesday to you all! Can you belive Setember 15th already!? That means another Cardabilities Sketch Reveal for you! This sketch, was great fun and I'm excited to share my take on the sketch with you!

I decided to keep a bit simple...Kraft and Lemon Tart for my colors today. And the pearls on the corner of the "thank you" really don't look so crazy in real life, but couldn't get them to look right on the photo...strange!!
I used my polka dot basics 2 background stamps from PTI and my trusty and very old borders and corner squares stamps-also from PTI for this card. I used versamark and clear embossing powder for the polka dots on the kraft card base. I used a bit of patterned paper from PTI as well, backed with some delicious Lemon Tart paper.

I stamped my thank you and square frame with versamark and embossed with clear powder then mounted on a bit more lemon tart...love it. I tied it all up with some nice satin Lemon Tart ribbon, and added a few pearls from Kaisercraft for a bit of detail.

I hope you get a chance to take a peek at the rest of the designer's work...it's always so fun to see what everyone did with the sketch-and how different each card is! You're also welcome to play along with the sketch--and link up with Mr. Linky...and let everyone else see what you did with the sketch!

Have a great one and thanks a bundle for stopping by!:)

Cardabilities Sketch 10

Good morning friends! I hope you are all doing well! I'm in a house with some excited kids, school starts tomorrow and they are READY to get back to it! We've had a great summer, full of great memories and a lot of fun...it's been great.

I've got the Cardabilities Sketch #10 to share today with you today! I had a great time with the sketch and hope you get a chance to play along!

I'm getting excited for Fall...the colors are so wonderful and that little chill in the air...pure heaven for me! I may or may not be getting ready to put my Halloween decorations up...I love this time of year!! I decided to use Chocolate Chip, Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise for my color scheme for this card.

My stamps are from PTI, Polka Dot Basics 2, and Butterfly Dreams. I used my circle nestabilies to make my die cut circles and then the butterfly die from PTI for my butterfly. My curly label punch went to work for my sentiment's home and then I sprinkled a few yummy buttons into the mix also!

Come play along with us over on the Cardabilities blog, there will be a load of inspriation there!
Take care and make it great!

Cardabilites Sketch #9

Good morning friends!! I hope you are doing well!! We are just getting back into the swing of things and getting normal again, after being out of town! Today is another fun reveal day for the Cardabilites Design Team! We're showing our take on Sketch #9 today.
I used the inspiration from my outfit for my color palette today! I love this combo...can't help it! I started with a white card, then followed by a Raspberry Fizz layer of cardstock. My Fizz layer has been polka-dotted with Raspberry Fizz ink and polka dots from the PTI set, Polka Dot Basics II. They are a little hard to see in this photo, but in real life they are much easier to see. I was thinking of what to use for the corner portions of this sketch and thought these great flowers would be a great touch! I used my daisy flower die, from SU, and my big shot to make these fun flowers. I used Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz cardstock for my flowers.

The center part of my card is Aqua Mist with a Hawaiian Shores twill ribbon ties around. My sentiment is stamped in Raspberry Fizz and is from the Everyday Button Bits stamp set, also from PTI.

Be sure to take a peek at the fun creations that the other DT members came up with!! Take care and have a great one!!

Cardabilities Sketch #8

Good morning friends! Today is a fun day, it's the revealing of another Cardabilities sketch! Today you'll get to see the fun sketch #8! Be sure to head over to the Cardabilities blog to see all the great work from the Design Team!!
I used some loved but not used in a while stamps--Circle Circus and Well Scripted stamp sets from Stampin' Up! I chose a bright color palette...Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Chocolate Chip brown...love these together! I used my Scallop Circle die from SU to create my card-just scoring down a little bit on the top of the scallop and then attaching the two scallops together! I also used my circle nestabilites and labels 8 nestabilites. My punches used were 3/4", 1" and 1 1/4" circles. My button is from PTI and my ribbon is from SU. Oh, and my polka dot paper is from AC.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!! Be sure to take a look around at the great work from the other DT girls!!

Cardabilties Sketch Reveal!

Good morning friends! I hope you have been having a great week...we've had a great one, filled with cub scout day camp, b.day party and all that goes along with that, plenty of otter pops, and me busting out the sewing machine to make some fun things for my girls!! I don't sew often, I'm not very good, but for some reason the sewing machine is calling my name right now!! I've made 3 skirts in 2 days...yep, loving it!! And my girls think I am the coolest mom around, since I let them pick the fabric and then made something they can wear and match....fun times!!

Speaking of fun, today is the Cardabilites Sketch Blog reveal for Sketch #7!! I love the sketch and have been having a hard time not using the sketch until it went live!! So, here is my take on the sketch! I used the Sweet Pea stamp set from PTI...they are some of my most favorite flowers of all time and I knew I HAD to have that stamp set!! I also used Signature Greetings from PTI for my sentiment. I wanted a nice soft color combo...isn't it dreamy!? Sweet Blush and Hibiscus Burst with a little pop of New Leaf. The border punch I used is from SU.

Hope you have a great day! Be sure to check the Cardabilities blog for some great talent from the DT!! I've also got a LAD post today, so be sure to check it out to...NEW Mix stamps!!!:)
Thanks a bundle for stopping by!

Cardabilities Reveal Day!

Good morning friends! Happy Wednesday to you all! I'm excited to share my card with you today...it is the 6th sketch from the Cardabilities sketch blog. I love this sketch and think Karan is a great sketch artist!! Be sure to take a moment and look at the fun from the other DT members...it's bound to be a inspirational few minutes!!
I've been wanting to use more purple...I love it, but don't use it often. I went with Lavender Moon, Plum Pudding and Lemon Tart from PTI for my color palette. I stamped the Plum card with the large polkas from Polka Dot BasicsII, then added my Lavender Moon layer. I used my border punch from SU, on the Lemon Tart paper, then mounted it to the Lavender layer. I stamped the hot air balloons from Everyday Button Bits with Plum ink and added some Lemon Tart buttons for the tops of the balloons.

My Lemon Tart circle in the corner has been stamped with polka dots as well, in lemon tart ink--in real life they are very lovely--not so much in the photo! I used my nesties to cut the circle and scallop circle. I stamped the sentiment from Signature Greetings and then added a little plum paper behind...and there you have it!!

I hope you have a great one...and just another reminder about Cards For Grace drive going on now...here's the info again!! Make it great!!
