A Little note...

Hello friends! How is today Wednesdsay!? It must be nearing the end of school, and everthing else that we've got going on! My days are running away with me! I hope that you are all doing well. I know we are really late getting out of school--not for 4 more weeks! But many of you are out of school and I hope you are enjoying it!!

I've got a fun little number to share today...I LOVE this lamp from PTI, I love the whole set, Lighten Up! It's got all sorts of great lamps...and the sentiments make me so happy!!

Many Thanks...

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! I'm happy to share a little something that we made in our card class at the elementary school yesterday! This week is teacher appreciation week, and we made a little card and post-it note holder for the girls to gift to their teachers. They always love making covers for post-its! It was funny to listen to the girls talking about the many ways their teachers use post-its! They are definitely a well used item in the classroom!

We used the Fruit Fusion Apple, Fillable Frames 1, and Mat Stack 3 from PTI. The paper is a bit of misc. from my stash! The kids all had a great time, and are excited to pass their little gifties tomorrow...oh, the fun, the fun!!

Hey There...

Hey friends! How are you? Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend...we had some wonderful weawther, which made for some great times outside!! We have to stop everything and run when we get weather like we did this weekend, it almost makes you forget how much it rains!

I wanted to share a couple of cards that we'll be making today at the after school card class! We're just starting a new session...and I'm excited to share my love of paper and stamps with a new round of little girls!!

I used the April SFYTT for my layout on this card...I found some paper from MM that is many moons old, but perfect for a bunch of little girls! Don't you think!? I used my circle tag, doily and hello friend dies, from PTI.

 Here is another card we'll be making today. My daughter loves the doily stamp, and although the larger one is sometimes hard for her to line up, these sizes are much easier! I used the medium and small doily stamps--I also used the smallest doily die. I also used a tag its circle for the red center of my doily...then popped the center up with foam adhesive.

A Cheery Sort of Day...

Good morning friends! I hope you are doing well...happy FRIDAY! Can I say how much I LOVE sunshine and warm-ish weather!? The sun was in the bright blue sky yesterday...no clouds!! I dropped everything, strapped my little Max into the backpack and we went for a walk outside! It was a tad cold..but oh SO pretty! And now the rain is coming back...

This is one of the cards that we made at card class last week. I laughed so hard, I pulled it out to show the girls what were making and they all screamed! It was pure excitement and love...and it made me laugh so hard! They had a great time making this one and all chose someone special to send it to! Isn't it great to send someone a wish for a "cheery sort of day!?"

I used PTI Rosie Posie and Hello Friend stamp sets. I used some new Raspberry Fizz patterned paper (love that!) and simply chartreuse pape...the ribbon is an oldie from Su. Oh, and we used the Mat Stack 4 also!

Thinking of you...

Oh, good morning friends! Do you know how much I love this little sentiment!? "Thinking of you and smiling!?" I love it, love the fonts Dawn used when creating it, love the set it comes with, love it all! It makes my smile..truth be told!

I wanted to share one of the cards we are doing for my after school card-making class at the elementary school. We've only got one more class and this session will be done. It's amazing how fast 6 weeks can seem, and then again how long it can be too! Anyway, we've had a GREAT time making cards, teaching the girls the basics of stamping/paper crafting...they have really had a fun time! It makes me happy to see them having so much fun!

So, meet today's card.I'm kind of stuck on a BRIGHT colors train right now...I found this cute polka dot paper at Hobby Lobby (squeal with excitement, one has opened about 40 minutes from my house!) a couple of weeks ago. I so love this combination of joy...red, blueish-greenish, and kraft. Delight comes in many forms!

I used the Hello Friend stamp set from PTI, which I sincerely do ADORE! My doily and tag dies are from PTI as well.

With Gratitude

Good morning! How in the world can we be approaching mid November!? I am loving this season of thanksgiving...we are having a great time writing down the things that we are thankful for. I love watching my little Ruby take her leaf and write down what she is thankful for--I'll have to take a photo of our Thankful Tree. We've been writing down what we are thankful for on paper leaves, and then tying them onto some branches in a vase on our table. Of course, her first thankful leaf was "treats." She loves candy, and her sweet things!

Anyway, today's card. We made this yesterday at our after school card class. The kids all got so excited about the leaf...I dusted off my paper crimper! That thing has been around for ages--it doesn't get to play much but when it does, it sure packs a punch!

The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches, Chit Chat set...and I love it! It was fun to listed to the little kids say, "what's a gratitude!?" Glad to be able to talk to them about what they are thankful for! There will be about 14 smiles on teacher/principal faces tomorrow....so fun.

Hello There!

Hey friends! Hello There! Today's card is one that we made last week in our after school card class. It was funny, I asked the kids if there was anything that they really wanted to do in our last class, "the owl" was a the top of each of their list!! This little owl has had more costumes...but today she is just being who she is, an owl! It was fun to see the kids all make their cards "their own!" Some of the owls turned into one-eyed monsters and aliens! It was so fun to see them all being so creative!

Good morning friends! I hope you've had a good weekend! We have enjoyed some great baseball games, a bit of sun, a little rain, and some WONDERFUL fresh green!! I love this time of year, the trees are all busting with awesome fresh bright green foliage right now...so beautiful!!

I'm having a little bit of fun today--going into my daughters kindergarten class to do a little card class today! My daughter is beyond excited...and I'm thrilled too! We'll be making a couple of different cards today. These two--they will each be making one of them. We are going to be participating in Stephen's desire to send cards to all deployed military troops! I'm so excited for the soldiers to open these cards! They are all made just as the kids like them. Some follow the example as close as they can, some just do whatever floats their boat!

They all love the idea of sending cards to soliders...it's been great to be able to be part of this great idea!

The images are Paper Smooches, from the Birthday Buddies set. Perfect for kids cards, don't you agree!? They all thought this dog was SO cute...way to go Kim!

Hey, good morning friends! I hope you are doing well! Did you have a good weekend? We had a sunny almost warm-outside day Saturday...and buckets of rain yesterday. Springtime in Seattle...it's awesome!

I'd like to share a little something we made at our card class last week, that was another HIT with the kids! I had this paper and was thinking of what to pair it with...and thought it would be fun to use my paint splatter stamp, from the "Treasured Trinkets" mix set, and the Tweens and Teens set..together! The kids LOVED this card and requested we use the paint again...and again!! I'm really having fun making things that are fun and simple enough for the kids to enjoy...I'm kind of sad that our last class is already upon us this week!!

Hey friends! My thanks today goes to the people at blogger who fixed some problem...a problem even getting into the site! I'm sure several of you had a bit of frustration with this too? Glad things are better...back to normal? We'll see!

I have a little something to share today. This week in my after school card-making class, we made a couple of cards for a very specific purpose. We are making cards to send to Stephen. He is a young boy with a goal to send thank you letters to every actively deployed service member of the U.S. Military! I told the kids about this and they got all sorts of excited! It was so great to read the notes that were written inside each card. The kids understand how great it is that brave men and women work hard to keep us safe...and I'm so happy to be a small part of saying thank you to them!
We used the Circle Circus stamp set from stampin' up, and Mixed messages from PTI. We used a bunch of circle punches...and had a lot of fun!!

Stay tuned. Tomorrow the LAD design team will be posting our fun monthly design team challenge cards...it was a fun one!

I used Joslyn's sketch for the week, over on the LAD blog, and then used the Little Monsters School Days stamps sets. The patterend paper is from American Crafts-Travel line, and cardstock is from SU.

Just a little something...

Good morning peeps! I'm back today, with another little something we made in our class yesterday. You know those things that have been around FOREVER?! I had a butterfly sitting out on my desk yesterday and it got a little bit of ink--making a bit of an outline--on my scratch paper. My daughter saw this and went nuts! I pulled out some of my "glossy" paper from SU and we went to town!

I can't believe how much the kids enjoyed this one...so simple but it brought a huge BANG for the kids at the card class! All the glossy paper...they begged for it again next week!
We put the cardstock butterfly on the glossy paper, used a sponge to add color to the glossy paper...and there you have it!:)

Hello There!

Hey friends! Happy Wednesday! Hope you've had a great week! I know I say it a lot, but where do the days go? I guess with 4 little ones in my house, my days are bound to go quickly! We are all doing well-thank you for the well wishes about little Max. Thank goodness for Drs and good moderen medicine! The two perscriptions that we are using are really helping Max a lot! Does anyone have any seceret tricks to helping a blocked tear duct!? ;)

I'm teaching another class at the elementary today. With Teacher Appreciation week next week, we are making a couple of things for the kids to give to their teachers. First up, we'll be making this card.
I love having my daughter around, she saw this paper and loved it!! It's been in my little or no use pile and she pulled it out and we're using it all up today...YEA! I used several PTI dies on this one, and PTI stamps too. I made the little flower...it's made of scuply polymer clay! I had a lot of fun making them...maybe a little blog candy coming...;)

We are making a little covered post-it pad for the teachers also. This just hold one regular square post-it pad. We are using little basic grey magnets for the closure...LOVE those things!

The outside dimensions--which you can figure out easy enough--but I have them so why not share. The cardstock is 3 1/4 x 7 1/2. I scored it at 1 1/2, 2, 5, and 5 1/2. Just to save you a little guess work! These have been around forever--but revisiting is fun isn't it!?

Hello!!

Hello friends. My name is Jeni Allen!:) I have been in full time "Mommy" mode this past week. It has been a very eventful last few weeks...and our crazy isn't over yet! Max and I spent a large amount of time on Tuesday at the Children's Hospital in Seattle. He has a spot of something on his face that has stumped the Dr's at our Dr. office(all 3 of them). So, we went and were happy to learn that it wasn't anything serious--just inflamed Exema. He had a infection in it...and it looked terrible! I have to say, being 5 months old, he has had more perscriptions than my other kids have had in their almost 8, 6, and 3 years of being!

So, I've got a little something to share! This was one of the cards we made last week at my little elementary school card class. I love the fresh and clean of it...I think that with spring whispering somewhere..."whitespace" is really calling my name!!
The girls loved the paper and little lace border...they all loved the butterflies...they all loved it!

Birthday Fishes

Good morning friends! Here's another card class project for you! We had SUCH a great time yesterday! I love working with these kids thare are SO excited to be in the class! They all enjoyed the projects we made, we ran out of time we were enjoying ourselves so much!;) Good thing we've got 5 more Wednesdays to go! The theme of the class today was "Birthday" and the kids loved these Paper Smooches images! I happen to love them too...so it was fun all around! Hope you all have a great one! I'm finishing up some cupcakes that I hope are as good as the reviews have been!! I was asked to bring some to a church function tonight...triple chocolate...yum! Chevron...love

Good morning all! I've been bitten by the "chevron" image bug! It's everywhere these days...isn't it!? Today is the first after school card class of this session, and my daughter and I are really excited! There is something SUPER fun being in a room full of kids that are excited to create! We'll be making this little number here... I was inspired by a card in the latest issue of Papercrafts for this one. I pulled out a rick rack die from PTI and went to town!! My happy birthday stamps are Paper Smooches and in a font I simply LOVE! I used crushed curry, pacific point blue and rich razzleberry for the colors on this card...oh, how I love these colors! Spooktacular!

Good morning friends! I hope you are doing well! I have another little someting to share that we made at our Kids Card Class this week. I found the inspiration for this card here, and wanted to make it something a bit more spooky...and fell in love with these little black owls!
I made them with the Owl Punch from SU. I also used the bird punch from SU for the branches. The eyes are part of the owl punch, and the beak is a 1/4" square cut in half. The patterned paper is retired SU and is mounted on pumpkin pie. The sentiment, which is one of my ALL time favorite stamps from Lizzie Anne, is from the Hallow's Eve stamp set. Isn't it just wonderful!?


The kids had a great time with this one...and want more owls...so we'll have to see how we can use this little owl punch again next week! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Make it great!

Trick or Treat!

Good morning friends! Just watnted to pop in quickly to share a fun project that we made at the after school class I'm teaching at the elementary school right now...the kids loved this one! I've been having a great time teaching this class during October...so many fun things out there to get ready for Halloween!:)

I've been working on getting a bunch of older paper used....the kids don't care that it's retired and it is still in great shape=happy jeni!:) So, I paired an older SU Halloween paper up with some pupmpkin pie, black and here you have it!
I cut the bats out with my Silhouette...love that machine. The scalloped circles were made with my Big Shot and a scallop circle die. The black scallop was made with my Big Shot and my PTI scallop die, I think this one is the large die. The glitter is Onyx tinsel glitter by Martha Stewart and we just laid down a strip of scor-tape and then piled the glitter on. **The kids thought this glitter was the coolest ever, "it is SO soft!" It's really a cool product! The Trick or Treat stamp come from the LAD set Hallow's Eve, which I love with all my heart! We used dimensional adhesive on the back of the bats to raise them up a bit...fun, fun, fun!!

I'll share a couple more Kids Card Class samples the next few days...we've got from Kindergarten to 3rd grade...and a lot of fun in between!! Thanks a bundle for stopping by! Make it great!:)
