Congrats!

Good morning friends! Happy weekend! I know it isn't usual that I get a post up on the weekend, but I guess my time is not "usual" right now!;) I was asked to make some cards for the PTA at the elementary school. I am happy to make cards for people that make my kids days happy!!

I was super excited to pull my silhouette out off the shelf for this card! I love that machine, and I haven't used it since we moved, and I miss the fun that comes with it! I didn't have quite the right "congrats" in my stamp supply...I had a certain idea of what I wanted to do and didn't have quite the right look in stamps. So, I pulled out my trusty Silhouette and went to town!

I ended up making quite a few changes to one of the sentiment I had in my library...I'm getting better at that software and it is exciting to make things do what you want!! So, this congrats is altered a bit from the image in the online store...and I LOVE how it turned out! I used some silhouette double adhesive paper to cut my sentiment, then used some gold glitter to add some sparkle!
My paper is from Crate Paper, Maggie Holmes...and I LOVE the patterns in that pad! My flowers are mini blooms from PTI.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend...we are currently enjoying the RAIN! I know many of my friends on the east coast are enjoying (lol) crazy winter storms, we are having a pounding of rain as of late! There are two bridges that lead to my little town, and one of them has been under water....oh the delight!;) I am listening to the rain pattering on the roof and thankful to be inside and dry!!

Take care friends and I'll see you Monday! Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of you

Hey there friends! I hope you are doing well!! I can't believe today is Thursday, it is crazy how fast this week has gone! I wanted to stop by quick and share a card I made...it was homework from Pattern Play card class.

I picked up one of my little "thinking of" Polaroids that I had cut a few weeks ago with my Silhouette. I used my lovely "you" die from Simon Says Stamp. My flower is from rosie posie, and my leaves are from turning a new leaf.

Oh, my paper is from Pebbles! And, I had to use more enamel dots...they are some of my favorite things right now!

Ok, baby is still sleeping and I am going to see if I can get more "homework" done from pattern play class!!

Take care, and I hope you have a lovely one!!

thinking of you...

Good morning and happy Friday! Isn't it great that the weekend is upon us!? Time to "relax..." yea, not so much in my house, but at least I can dream about it! I have another little something today, that I  creating with the help of my Silhouette and a new die from Simon Says Stamp!

I used my Silhouette cameo to make this little frame-it is a Polaroid cut file. I went in and added the "thinking of" and then added the "you" die cut from Simon Says. Isn't that such a fun combo!? The paper is from Pebbles-love it! My butterflies have been glitified, and are so sparkly and lovely in real life, sorry they don't look as much in the photo!

I hope you will all stop by tonight, 6pm PST, for the fun new Cupcards To Go kit! I think this kit has been my all time favorite!! I have a bundle of samples, I just couldn't stop myself!! So, here's to hoping you have a great day and I'll see you back here soon!!

Take care and thank you all again, I appreciate your concern and support for my dad and me so much...thanks friends!!

Thank You...

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday morning to you! I hope your week is going well.
I have need for a lot of Thank You cards--so many sweet friends helped me the past few weeks! I wanted a super cute, flat and easy something I could make about 20 of super fast. I pulled out my trusty Silhouette!

Within just a few minutes, I had these fun thank you cards moving across my desk!

I pulled out some cute patterned paper-aren't those little floral bundles so cute!? And did I tell you I love the color of the paper? It almost makes me giggle how excited I get about paper lately...maybe it's because it's a bit gray and soggy around my part of the world!

Hope you have a great one...see you soon! And don't be afraid of the Silhouette...it's is such a fun and easy to use tool! It makes my heart so happy...see you later! Thanks a bundle for stopping by!

Love you....

Good afternoon friends!! I hope you are doing well! I am happy to be sharing another card for today! Two post days are quite rare!;)

I wanted to share this fun photo of me and THE cute Kristina Werner. We have known each other since 2007, isn't she the best!? I was so happy that we connected at CHA and that we got time to hang out!! She is seriously just 100% cool beans!! I am excited and very happy to be participating in her current card class-Clean and Simple Cardmaking 2. I have loved her style/work for a long time and love watching her videos! My two daughters love watching her videos too...I'm just sayin'....

I got a chance to do some of my "homework" today! I was inspired by a card that Shari Carroll made in day 2 of the class. Shari used address labels to do the strips on her card, but I chose to bust out some washi tape!
I pulled out three of the cute reds in my never ending selection of washi, and went to town! I used a Paper Smooches sentiment, from the Falling for You stamp set, which I embossed it with white embossing powder. My heart was cut with my Silhouette, and glitified with some random red glitter in my stash!

I am hoping to get to more "homework" this weekend!!
Take care peeps, have a great day and thanks a bundle for stopping by!!

You Rock My World...

Hello peeps! It is almost evening...Wednesday! I have to share this card...it happened just like I wanted it to and I can't wait to share it! I got some new washi tape--it's really BRIGHT NEON--which I know you can't see very well, but the orange and yellow are NEON!

While I don't have paper and ink to match, pulling them in with black and white, you can't really go wrong! Don't you agree!?

I used my Silhouette to cut out the guitar and words...and I love them!! My sweet silhouette is becoming a very good friend...just trying to name her!

I am linking up to the CAS-ual Friday challenge 86, Long and Short. The challenge is to made a card that isn't the traditional size! It needs one long side and one short side--so that pushed me right out of my comfort box! Do you ever have cards that you want to leave in your window seal? Because you love how it turned out...it came just like I wanted it to!

I hope you have a great night! See you tomorrow and take care! There is all sorts of crazy going on in my house right now, which generally means that everyone is starting to feel better! I'm being paged...my 4 year old needs me!

Take care and thanks a bundle for stopping by!!

love you

Good morning friends! I hope you are doing well! I have to say, yesterday got me! Three of my kids work up with sore throats, and so did I! We have managed to say pretty healthy this winter  and  have to say I much prefer not being sick!! We had a bit of a lazy day--with my head killing me all day, my sweet peeps that were sick got the pleasure of watching a bit of tv! We normally don't get anything exciting like that if they stay home from school...so it isn't fun to stay home! Well, I was talking with my sweet mother and I told her that they were starting to "get to me"....and I took her advice and let them all sit quietly on the couch and watch super why! It was a great help!

I did manage to do a couple of fun things...I used my Silhouette...love that thing! I used it to make a fun new Valentine's Day banner, this cute love you card, and I even used the print and cut feature!! I felt so happy with that accomplishment! I have been a little bit afraid of that...why in the world?! It is SO not hard! Don't be afraid of that...it is super fun!

So, today's card...just a little note to say...

I think that I love that this is flat, and I can send them fast! I know just who needs a little love...so they are off in the mail!

Have a great one...see you tomorrow!!

Love...

Morning friends! Hope you are doing well! I spent last night on the couch...my little sweet Ruby was coughing a lot, barking like a seal more like, and needed to sleep down on the couch with mom. This was after we had her in a super hot and steamy shower!

I was laying there on the couch, being the mommy I've dreamed about being since I was a little girl--and I LOVED it. I am so thankful for the blessing that my sweet little peeps are in my life. I could go on and on, but just wanted to publicly say how thankful I am for the blessings my children are in my life!!

Wouldn't it be awesome if I could bottle up that love...

Speaking of bottles of love, I was smitten by a card, my dear friend Amy posted yesterday! I had to run to my dear Silhouette SD (don't have the Cameo, the SD still meets my needs, DANG!) and create a card with that fun mason jar!

I paired it up with some October Afternoon, because really, how could I not!? So, I used my silhouette to create the sentiment in the heart too...which looks loads better in real life! I attached the red heart with dimensional adhesive, so it's got great "lift."

Thanks Miss Amy for your inspiration!! I also used the new Freshly Made Sketch for my layout...nice and clean!

Thanks for stopping by friends!! Tootles!

TGIF!

Hello friends! I know, I know, it really isn't Friday, but my kids don't have school tomorrow, so they are all sorts of excited that today is "Friday!" They are ready to start their weekend! I have to admit, I'm ready for a weekend too!! My sweet little #4 is getting better--the effects of his concussion are going away! BUT today, we learned that he has a broken collar bone! I am so thankful that we discovered this today...and that we have it on it's way to mending it's self! So, my little one armed-bandit has been trying to get used to not having a right hand...so I'm looking forward to having the kids around to be his right hands!!

I am working on an order for some invitations for my friend's sweet little girl. She is getting Baptized, soon and asked for me to make some invitations for her! I was thrilled to help share the news of this big day for my sweet little friend!
Used Delightful Doily from PTI..LOVE that set! I also used my Silhouette to make the "I am a child of God" sentiment. **I loved having the sentiment vinyl! It was fast and east to stick them to the cards! I  love my Silhouette!!**

Thanks for stopping by...I appreciate you taking the time!! Take care and have a wonderful weekend!!

A Merrry Little Christmas!

Hello friends! I know I've been absent, but 'tis the season for lots of things going on! I've been crafting and creative, but not with paper as much as other things! I wanted to share a couple of things I worked on yesterday! I've been making gifts, wrapping gifts, and really enjoying what this season has brought thus far!

I purchased a few unfished wooden pices at Hobby Lobby when I was away at Thanksgiving (I WISH I had a Hobby Lobby to frequent!!). I had them up near my desk and have been thinking about what fun things they might be used for! I saw a little "Have yourself a merry little Christmas" sign and my lightbulb turned on and here is the result! It makes me so happy!! It is housed on an easel in my kitchen and makes me smile every time I look at it!

I painted the wood white, let it dry and went to work on deciding what vinyl I wanted to use! I use my silhouette software and the "Artisan Pattern" to create the red background. Isn't that a FUN background!? I just layered the black over the red...and now am dreaming of what fun plaque I'll make next!

Next, I created one of my favorite Christmas time quotes! It is from a wonderful talk by Elder Neal A. Maxwell, one of the wonderful men that was a leader in my church. I am going to be giving several of this little tiles, along with a copy of the talk from Elder Maxwell, to several friends this season. I love this quote, and I actually my a 12x12 one for me! It's so important to remember this!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Holiday Season! I love this time of year, and the sweet memories I have associated with it! My kids are feeling the "magic" and it makes my heart just bubble with excitement! Have a wonderful one!!

I'm hosting the GRS weekly recipe sketch tomorrow, so stay tuned!! Thanks

I've been working...

Hey friends! Hope you had a great weekend! We sure did!! It was uplifting, encouraging and made me want to be a better me! We listened to a total of 8 hours (my husband listened to 10!) of council and direction from our church leaders! And I have to say, the weekend flew by! I've got my list of things I want to be better at--and not being a drill sargent for my kids is on my list!

We've been in-between effective reminders of what my kids are expected to accomplish in a day. With all the "fun" that goes on in our house everyday, my kids know that they need to contribute to the well being our home. None of them enjoy playing in a mess, not having clean clothes in their closet/drawers, or not having anything to eat their breakfast on or with! So, they know that have to lend a helping hand in making our home function smoothly! So, enter the scene our new chore chart! I'd seen a few ideas that I liked--and didn't want to spend much $ on the project. I saw a chart that I really liked here, but knew that I could make it with out having to leave my house for anything!
So here is what I did! I took an old white/magnet board and put it to work! I made frames and my kids names with my Silhouette. I wanted everyone to have their "own" look, while putting everyone on the same board. My son is pumped that his font is "star jedi", my little Lucy's is "banana split", and Ruby's is "playful". They all picked their colors and fonts and then I put my trusty Silhouette to work!

Not all of the magnets--or responsibilites need to be done every day, so I left a space on the left hand side for us to keep the responsibilites that aren't currently being done--like taking the garbage out and such.

For the magnets, I used my trusty clip art and placed them on slides in Powerpoint. I love powerpoint for the fact that I can put the pictures anywhere--where in word i can only put them on "lines"...just a little FYI. So, we got all the clip art pictures and then printed them up. I used a 1 1/4" circle punch to cut them all out and then attached them with Mod Podge to a clear-flat pebble. I didn't have quite enough pebbles at my house, so that is the one thing that had to be purchased.

After the Mod Podge dried, I used my hot glue gun to attach a heavy duty magnet to each pebble!

Everyone is REALLY excited about this new way for seeing what they need to do. My 3 year old even is really pumped about getting her jobs done! So, here's to a little work and a lot of fun!!

I've got some paper fun to share tomorrow...see you then! Thanks for stopping by!!

Thanks

Hello friends, happy Friday to you! I hope you've had a good week. It's been a wet one here...I know that the Seattle area is known for a lot of rain, but it always amazes me still (after living here for the better part of 10 years) at the amount of rain that comes from the heavens! It's been a rainy week, and I've been told we're in for more...so how about some bright happy colors today!? We're off to the Dr. for my little Ruby...bad night with really shallow breathing...luckily my Max slept all night and let me get a few hours in! I'm hoping we'll just get told she has a cough...clearing my mind of what she might have!

I've had my Silhouette SD (which I LOVE!!), since May of last year, and have decided I want to learn how to use it better and use it more often...so I decided to make some words to put onto some cards I am looking forward to sending. (My sweet friends had a shower for Max and me last night...it was so fun!)
I knew what paper I waned to use on my card, knew that I wanted to keep it simple and clean...and this is what I came up with! Can you believe how deliciuos this Crate Paper is!? I LOVE the whole collection...and love getting it out to play with! I used my PTI large scallop die for my scallops and use the "Fling" font to make my letters...and attached them with some Tombo Multi adhesive. My ribbon is from SU as is the gray dsp I used for my "thanks".

I hope you have a great weekend!! I've got more to share...so come back and visit!! And don't forget that I'll be choosing a random comment from yesterday through Monday's post for some Basic Grey Ambrosia paper...it's so pretty too!! **Kathy Mc, I need you to email me your information so I can send you your Wizard!**

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to laugh till your cheeks hurt today!!
