Thank You

Well, good morning friends!!! I hope you are doing well! Summer is almost over, we had a wonderful really long vacation and I have missed being at my desk doing what makes my heart so happy!! Missing paper and pretties is ok, right!!?

I am here sharing the new Retro Sketch for the week! It's a great one...

And here is my take on the sketch for the week! We went to a wonderful picnic with some families from my husband's work. It was a super fun party and my kids had a ball. The girl that planned it all was an awesome party planner!! I wanted to give her a little something for showing us such a good time, and thought a bright floral something would be perfect!!

So, I grabbed some bright colors...you know how much I love them!! I pulled out my flowers from Maggie Holmes, and started layering!! I used a PPP stitched tag die and then just layer it all up!! My sentiment is from PTI. I gotta say, I LOVE the different textures and prints in that pack of flowers from Maggie Holmes!!

Can't wait to see how your use the sketch this week!! Don't forget you have until next week to upload to the gallery!! Take Care, my faithful blogger buddies!!

Here is the new Retro Sketch for this week...

Hello!

Morning!! It feels like I've been gone a while...I had a bundle of automatic posts set up while I was out of town. I am trying to get back into my groove, but summer has been a busy time and with all my kids home!! We had a great few weeks, seeing our family and oh we just loved on them so hard it was so fun!! We all stayed up way too long and played as hard as we could! It was wonderful.

Now, here we are back to the card at hand today! I pulled out some of the great Oh Splat images, some rainbow inks and had a fun one!!!

I also used a fun hello die from Savvy Stamps. I cut it out of fun foam and then put it atop a bundle of silver thread. A few clear sequins and there is it!!

I hope you are doing well friends!!! I hope to get back into my blog reading....I'll get there!! I am almost done with the mountains of laundry and unpacking I've had to scale!! Take care and thanks a bundle for stopping by!!!

Thinking of You

Hello there, happy Saturday! This is my second post for today!! I am excited to share the new Retro Sketch for the week!! The sketch was based off an older card--like from 2010--on my blog. Wow...blast from the past!:)

So, here's the sketch!
And here's my new card!

I pulled out my painted flowers from Altenew and stamped just the outline images onto some watercolor cardstock. I stamped them with versafine ink, and then added clear embossing powder and zapped them with my heat tool. Then I put some distress inks on my craft sheet added some water and then smooshed my watercolor paper into the ink! I love, love, love the results!!

I stamped that big chevron backgound with my Misti....insert GIANT smile, because I got the perfect result, love that thing!! The background is from Gourmet Rubber Stamps. I added a nice little yellow border that was cut using a Pretty Pink Posh border die. My vellum doily was cut from a PTI die. I added a little pink slide--from Maggie Holmes and some gold thread. Then my sentiment is from Hero Arts! Wow, lots of products on this one!! Oh, and I added a few little gold enamel dots...love!!

I hope you'll get a chance to play along with us this week!! Can't wait to see what you come up with! Have a sunshine day and to all you Mother's reading this, Happy Mother's day tomorrow!!

Here is the sketch:
 And, here is my card.
I used some great Amy Tan paper...I love that design!! I decided to keep a black/white theme going for the card today. My bloom is from Ellen Hutson, the white stitched banner is from PPP, and the thank you die is from Heidi Swapp. I was SO excited to find this Heidi Swapp die while at Joanns a few days ago!! I love, love, love it!! So, a quick simple thought to share my thanks!!

I am excited to see what you come up with for the sketch this week!! Have fun with this one!!

Chirp...

Happy Thursday! Hope you are doing well! I have a bit of springtime cheer to pass along today!! You know, I don't know what is going on in your neck of the woods, but oh my!! We are experiencing a most fantastic spring!! We've been riding bikes, scooters, eating popsicles, and loving every minute outside!! The bright sky, the beautiful blooms on the trees...my sweet little Ruby said, "Mom, my favorite season is Spring--it is SO beautiful outside!!"

This little number is a bit of spring for you today!! I used this stinkin' cute chick form Hard Boiled. Oh my word, do you know how much I love this image!? I used the little speech bubble image from the Cake Day set, and the chirp is also from Hard Boiled.

I colored the images with some copics. I used my new PPP dies, Stiched Banner Duo...seriously a great die set!! I used some foam adhesive to pop the little chick up...and tied a bit of twine. My last bit included adding some clear sequins, 6mm and 4mm sizes!

I am linking up to the Simon Says Stamp springtime challenge! Bring it on spring!!

I hope you are well. I hope you will come back tomorrow to see a happy birthday card!! I need some bright colors these days, don't you!?

Take care and see you tomorrow!!

You've been on my mind...

Morning! I was so excited to see that the Make it Monday challenge at PTI was "smooshing!" I have loved this technique, and although I had used my large acrylic blocks in the past, I did try the technique with a bit of acetate! I love the effect that this technique brings!
I used the Friendly Flowers stamp set, which is SO fun, from PTI. I also used PTI inks, Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Limeade Ice, Certainly Chartreuse, and Aqua Mist. I also used my brand new PPP Duo Banner die!! I love this size die and know that I will use it a lot!!

I hope your weather is wonderful and that you are having a great Friday!!

I'll be back with two posts tomorrow, TAWS and Retro Sketch!! So see you soon!

Happy Birthday!

Yea, it's Saturday!! That means that my husband is home after being gone to Finland and Dubai this week...we are SO happy to have him home! My kids were rockstars while he was gone, but seriously, happy days are here again!!

So, today is a fun new Retro Sketch kind of day!! So the sketch this week is based on this card of mine actually, from a ways back!:) It's funny, I saw this week on Pinterest that someone has pinned this particular card, made me smile! Then, Arielle gave us the sketch and I smiled again!:) So, here is the sketch for the week, #136.

And here is my new take on the card! I have said before, and I'm sure I'll say it again in the future, I wish I was a bit better in the way of photography;)! Cloudy days don't help me much either!! But, here is my card!!

I used my hexagon cover plate from PTI to emboss the front panel...I love that look! It's been a while since I've done that and I just love it!! The, I added a few turquoise hexagons-that had been cut from a turquoise paper. My floral tag is from an Amy Tan paper pack, as is the polka dot strip. I used my PTI Wet Paint "happy" die, and cut it out of black. I colored it with my wink of stella pin and then covered it with glossy accents, and on my word!!! I love that look. In real life the sparkle is fantastic!!! The birthday came from the Phrase Play #5. I added a few sequins...the little pink ones are from PPP.

Yes, a serious influx of birthday cards. I am making cards for the faculty at the elementary, and I'm working on getting a slew of them finished up...so you will continue to see a bunch of birthday cards the next couple of weeks!:)

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us over at Retro Sketches this week!!

Take care and thanks a bundle for stopping by!

You are Fabulous!!

Good morning/afternoon!! I hope you are doing well!
I am excited to play along with the Pretty Pink Blog hop today!! I use diecuts almost every time I make a card, so this was a super fun challenge!!

The question is which dies to use!! Right!?I had been thinking of how I could use this fun patterned paper--it is a Maggie Holmes design and I just love it!! I had the thought to use it as a sky...so here is where my brain went!
I used my spellbinders circles dies to create the rainbow--using two circles next to each other in size to create each color strip! I used some lovely PTI cardstock...aren't the colors in this palette yummy!! The "you" is from Simon Says Stamp, and the stamps are from PTI. My clouds are from the up up and away set from PTI.  My pretty clear sequins on the are from PPP!:)

I am excited to get a chance to look at all the fun stops along the way of this hop...yea!!!
Take care and I'll see you tomorrow with a new Retro Sketch...it's a great one!!

You're the Best!!

Hey there friends! I hope you are doing well. My days of being a momma to 4 children are getting fewer and fewer...my 5th little one will be born on May 15th... (if everything goes according to my schedule!;) and we are so excited!! I tell you what, no rest for the weary these days! We had a couple of days of the flu with my oldest daughter last week, and that threw me for a loop!! Now, last night my other daughter followed right in her sister's footsteps! We've got flu case #2 today, and although my sweet little one is doing better...I don't like the sick bugs!!

I'm happy to have her occupied for the moment (being sick and home from school at our house is SO BORING!!! Or so my daughter tells me)...so I thought I'd finally get a chance to post my card for the fun Pretty Pink Posh shaker blog hop! I've been looking forward to the fun, but didn't know if I'd get a few minutes to post...so I'm glad I am getting these few minutes!

I was asked to make a card for one of our FAVORITE teachers that is retiring this year. We are all so sad to see her go! I pulled out a new pad of Heidi Swapp paper--beautiful paper--I might add, that I picked up at Joann's, and my fun Heidi Swapp stamps too. I cut the frame from my PTI Fabulous Frames, and just trimmed the bottom off a little. I stamped my flowers, added my sequins, stuck them all together and then attached them to my card! The stars are beautiful Heidi Swapp too...they come all glittered and ready to be beautiful! My sentiment is from Avery Elle, the Handwritten Notes stamp set. I think she will love it...and I think the shaker with iridescent and silver sequins makes it super special! I am linking up to the Simon Says Stamp "Keep it clean and Simple" challenge too...:)

Glad that I got a chance to post and link up the PPP blog hop! Hope you have a wonderful sunshine day...thanks so much for stopping by!! See you tomorrow for a bit more of my sharing my "therapy"...:)
