LAD Design Team Challenge!

Good morning friends! I hope you are on your way to a great weekend! We are hoping for a great baseball game this morning and some fun around the yard...maybe even gettting the garden planted! Speaking of gardens...our peppers just popped their heads out of the dirt...SO fun!!

For the Design Team Challenge, we were to use this photo as our inspiration for a color challenge. Isn't it great room?! Love the soft colors with the dark contrast of the legs of the furniture!!

I was inspired most by the art on the walls...love those colors!! So, here is the card that came form this inspiration! The images I used are from the "It's good to be Queen" Monthly Mix, one of my favoirtes, for sure! I used some Cosmo Cricket Delovely paper..just simply yummy paper!!

I hope you have a great day today and a wonderful relaxing weekend!! Be sure to hop on over to the other DT girls blogs today...it's always SUCH a treat to catch all inspiration from these girls!!

Make it great!!

Happy Easter!

Good morning friends! TGIF, huh!? I'm happy that the week has been a good one. I look forward to a little less going on...but is that really possible!? I found myself folding laundry today and thinking to myself...how fast the day goes when you've got things to do and little people to care for! I'm thankful for the time that I have right now to sit and feed my little Max...I am enjoying it so much! Yesterday was spent making some delicous cupcakes for a church function...my friend called and asked me and 10 other ladies to make 2 dozen cupcakes for a dinner for the women in our stake. We had a great time celebrating being women and such and enjoyed delicious cupcakes for our dessert! Mine were a triple chocolate recipe...but the one that I fell for tonight was a lime/lemon one...oh my word! I tasted the best cupcake I've ever had...last night! I know that is saying a lot, but there was lemon curd in the cupcake for cryin' out loud!! Perfection in my opinion! Then after I got home, I whipped up some cinnamon rolls for my husband to take to his early moring class-he teaches the youth in our area scripture study at 6:00 am every day! So, yesteday I was thankful for my Bosch, dish soap and rubber gloves! I used them over and over and over again...and enjoyed every second of it! Sorry to be so long winded...but now onto the main reason you've come to visit today! Today is the LAD design team challenge. We were challenged to make an Easter card...and I just LOVE these little eggs! They are in the Spring Mix...aren't the super!? I cut my grass with my silhouette, then cut each egg out and glued them down...and added a bit of bling to a few of them! I love the clean white space on this card..feels so good!! Be sure to check out the LAD blog today too...and check out the fun things the other girls are up to! I hope you have a great day!! Enjoy your weekend...where ever you may be! Thanks for sharing a few minutes with me!

Wonderful World

Good morning friends! Happy Friday! I wonder why I'm so taken to bright happy colors right now...maybe because I feel like I'm missing the SUN!? I got a little bit of it on Wednesday and it did me really good...now I'm hoping for more of it soon! The blue sky...and sunshine...beauty at it's finest!!

Todays post is a design team challenge. We were supposed to look through the sketch book and find a card/sketch by another designer and use it for inspiration. What a fun challenge! I used a card made by none other that "Lizzie"...here is the card that inspired me!
I went with the new sixlet set "Wonderful World" and some October Afternoon paper! Fun and whimsical, and happy! I'm really thankful for the wonderful world we have to live in...so beautiful and I'm so thankful for that!

Be sure to take a look at the LAD blog and see the fun inspiration the other designers found! Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care!! Oh, and here's to summer and warm weather!! (My son came down with a fever last night...will it ever end!?)

I resolve...

Good morning friends! Here we are already Friday! Today is the LAD design team challenge. Our challenge this month was to create a card based on one of our new resolutions for the year. I've been thinking about being a more "light-hearted" person. I'm pretty laid back most of the time and don't stress out about big things..it's little things that cause me to stress most of the time! So, my theme for the year, from the Happiness Project, is to remember" the days are long, but the years are short!"
I was looking through my stamps to determine what I wanted to do for this challenge...and when I saw the image I used, a tree with a tire swing...it gave me the perfect feel for my resolution! The tree/swing image is from "Welcome Home" and the sentiment is from "Card Quotations". I used some more of my MME paper...I've been on quite a MME kick lately...it's calling my name!!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, I appreciate it! Have a great day...and don't forget to "laugh till your cheeks hurt!"

A gift for you

Happy Friday morning friends! Today is the Lizzie Anne Designs Design Team Challenge for December...we were challenged to make a tag/gift tag for the holidays...I apprecitae the challenge, it got a couple of little gifties for some friends checked off my list of things to do!;)

I am in love with this little marshmellow image...isn't it SO dang cute!? I love the little scarf and find it just a perfect winter image! It can be for Christmas or just winter stuffs, and makes me SO happy!! The image is from the December Mix, Warmest Wishes. The "a gift for you" comes from the Love and Joy Labels stamp set. I paired the image with some great candy stripped paper I picked up a few weeks ago. Isn't that great holiday paper!?
Here is the complete little gift ensamble I created. I made a fun card, filled a little 1/2 pint jar with hot chocolate mix, mint/chocolate chips, and marshmellows. I prettied up the jar with some paper, tulle, and ribbons...then added my little tag. It's so fun to create your own gift packaging and cards, don't you think!?

These are super and can be easily mass produced. With a new baby, my hoilday preperations are doing their best to stay simple and necessary. I'd say that we'll get a few more of these made up and ready to be given...so those people we love can have a little happy warm and toasty treat!:)

Here is what the little jar looks like...enough cocoa for 2 servings with some yummy mint/chocolate chips and marshmellows!!

Don't forget to check in on the LAD blog for the fun items the other DT girls are sharing...I'm sure we'll get a load of inspiration today!! Thanks so much for stopping by, make it a great one!!

LAD Blog DT Challenge

Good morning friends! I hope you are having a great week! We're having a good one...I'm in serious "nesting" mode...4 weeks from yesterday we'll be holding our new little baby! I picked up some little sleepers and blankies...so excited to wrap our new little bundle up!!

Speaking of wrapping bundles...the LAD design team has a challenge today to share a card and another "gift" item...and I think everyone has a different stamp set...it should be a great bit of inspiration to look through the dt blogs!! You can check out the details on the LAD blog here.
The stamp set I used today is called "Rockin' Holiday", isn't that a great Santa!? (it's 20% off right now too!) I used some of my new MME holiday paper, black cardstock and ripe avocado ribbon for the main pieces of this ensamble. I colored Santa with copics, added some flocking to santa's suit and hat...I'm excited to bust out more flocking...it adds such a great detail!
Here is a closeup of the tag I created to attach onto this Test Tube full of red M&M's. I think this will be a fun little ensamble for the kids to take to their little neighbor friends and will be something that they can participate in and enjoy success in making!
Here is the full tube with m&ms...fun, fun, fun! Now, just to hide this tube of candy from my little Ruby...she has been enjoying mommy working with candy the last few days!!;)
Have a great day and thanks a bundle for stopping by!

Spooky!

Good morning friends! I hope you are doing well this morning!! I am excited to share my project for the Lizzie Anne Designs Design Team Challenge this month! We were supposed to used an older set of stamps(which was a good challenge in and of it's self! Fun to go back to use some of the older sets that don't get used as much!) to make a "Fallish" project. Tricia also had a sketch for us to use, and the sketch can be found here, on the LAD blog.
I looked through my older sets and rediscovered the love I have for this old black crow image!! Isn't it perfect!? The image is from the Something To Crow About Mix, from last September. I also loved the little spooky stamp, also in that Mix set. I used some paper from SU, I think it's called Night and Day, but I could be wrong--it is retired, that much I do know! I have this nice soft white fiberous trim from SEI and I think it goes along with the spooky images perfect! A few little black button from PTI, and I just created a favorite card...it just makes me happy!!

Head over to the LAD blog and check out the other fun Fall projects that the girls have come up with...you're sure to find some great inspiration!

Take care and thanks so much for stopping by!!

LAD Design Team Challenge

Good morning friends! I hope you are doing well today! Are you enjoying the last few weeks of summer, or are you back in school already!? I know of several that have started school already and can't belive it's almost that time again! We've stocked up on school supplies, shopped for clothes and shoes and the kids are patiently awaiting finding out what teacher they will have for the coming year...all sorts of excitement here!

Today is the Lizzie Anne Design Team Challenge. We were supposed to find something that inspired us and then share the photo of it and also the card that it inspired! I was looking through my House Beautiful Magazine(love that one)on our road trip a couple of weeks ago and came across this page...instantly fell in love and knew it was the inspriation I would use for this challenge! Isn't it a great room...love the color combo...surprised!?;)
So, for my card, I used Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, and a pop of Raspberry Fizz for my color palette. I used the colors as inspiration, but also the layout of the magazine page for my card...paying attention to the pretty curves and such in the fireplace and that awesome frame! I thought this great chair would be a prefect image to use and love how it turned out!!
I used my Houndstooth embossing folder and a layer of Hawaiian Shores cardstock for my main background. I love how it paired up with the houndstooth on the chair...fun, fun, fun!! I rounded the corners of the layer with my corner chomper and then tied a nice white ribbon around it before attaching it to the card base.

I used my Labels 8 nestabilites to follow the curves in the inspriation photo...I cut a white and summer sunrise label and then stamped the chair in raspberry fizz and then added the sentiment in a dark chocolate ink. Both the chair and sentiment are from the August Mix, Turn Towards the Sun.

I attached the frame to the card with dimensionals and then added some summer sunrise colored rhinestones...just a little added bling! The last touch was a pinch of pink tulle and a rapsberry fizz button on the knot of my ribbon.

I hope you get a chance to see what the other DT girls have come up with...I love seeing people share their inspriation!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

LAD DT Challenge!!

Happy Saturday friends! I hope you've had a good day today!! You know when you think you've got something done, and are all excited that you're a head of the game, and then you realize that you missed something!? This post meant to go out early this morning...so goes my life right now!!
For the DT challenge this month, we were supposed to use something that isn't normally used in our card making/crafting. I was looking around my desk and found these cork furniture disks that I had just used and realized that they'd be great balloons!! The image is from the August Mix...and I just used the self adhesive cork to add some fun texture!!

I hope you have a chance to check out all the DT samples today...they are so creative!! And be sure to hop on over to the LAD blog for the full details!:)

Have a great one friends!!

Lizzie Anne Design Team Challenge (post #2)

Good morning friends! I hope you're having a good Monday! I'm back with my post #2 for today. The Lizzie Anne Design Team challenge for this month was packaging. I was thinking a little fun treat for my girlfriend would make a good challenge for me. I bought some Moose Munch popcorn treats...yum. I wanted to give her a fun package, so this is what I came up with!:)
I used my circle scissor cutter from SU to make the larger taken with teal circles, or the "body" of my purse. I used my scallop circle bigz die and my big shot to cut the American Crafts flower paper and then my circle scissor again for my smaller two circles. (I do enjoy that cutter!!) The flower stamp that I used to make my little tulips is from the February Monthly Mix "Singing In the Rain". I colored my tulips with copics, then made my grass from some olive cardstock and my MS grass border punch. I stamped my Thanks for Everything stamp and then used my large oval and scallop oval punches to make it look just right!!

This is a side view of my little "popcorn purse". I used a piece of cardstock to mount the popcorn bag(cello filled) onto, and also to attach the sides of my purse to. I just made the back out of the large taken with teal circle and the scalloped flower paper. I tied the cello bag up with some pti lavender ribbon and then tied a bit of tulle around the open sides of the purse...if that makes sense!:)
It was a fun little something to give to my girlfriend for helping me with my kids while I was gone...and I did pick up a fun little something for her in TX...so maybe I'll get some other fun packaging while I'm getting it ready...we'll see!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Make it a great one!
