LAD DT Challenge!
Today is the LAD DT Challenge, and the challenge this month was to make a baby card and find some inspiration from pottery barn kids! Well, I did just that! I had a great time dreaming of several different baby rooms...but this one caught my eye! The thing that caught me most was the great name plate for Sophie! So here is the wonderful photo that got the wheels in my head turning....here is a link to the room on their site.
And here is my card! I loved the non-traditional baby colors! I used Basic Gray from SU, Plum Pudding from PTI, Black and some beautiful polka dot paper from SU. I cut out my flourished frame with my Silhouette. I used some nestabilities--circle and scallop circle to make a mat for my "B" from the LAD Mix, Follow Your Dreams. Very up-town baby palette, don't you agree?
Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to head over to the LAD blog and see the fun things the other designers have in store for us today...it's always so fun to see what everyone comes up with!! Make it great!!Tuesday, March 8, 2011
Forgetting...
When I saw this "Ageless" stamp from LAD it made me giggle a bit. I'm not trying to lie about my age, I just often in all honesty, forget what it is! I don't feel any older-or wiser for that matter-than I did 10 years ago...and my mom has informed me that she still feels the same way she did when she was years younger...age, it's a funny thing isn't it!?
I used this fun October Afternoon paper, a Fiskars scalloped scallop border pounch, a flower die from SU and a bit of tulle on this card. This sentiment is one of the new singles released this month from LAD.**I was really excited to discover a long forgotten note book with hundreds (honest planet, there are TONS!) of card sketches! This card is inspired by one of them...I say again, YEA for sketches!!
I hope you have a fantastic day!! Thanks so much for sharing a few of your precious moments with me! Take care and make it great!!

Hope is...
Today I've got my take on the LAD sketch challenge for last week. The sketch can be found here, on the LAD blog. Taylor did a great job...it's so fun to work with great creative people!! Anyway, I love that a sketch can inspire something...it doesn't have to be exactly like the sketch, but just having some idea to start from...love it!! The sentiment is one of the new March Singles from LAD, it's called Hope. My paper polka dot paper is Amy Butler and my cardstock vanilla and Basic Gray from SU.Thanks so much for stopping by! I've got more to share this week, so see you soon!! Make it great!

Just one more...
I stuck with the same paper, from Crate Paper and added some Raspberry Fizz. You can't tell in the photo, but irl, you can see the lace I stamped from the Timeless Textures stamp set...it's really great looking in real life! Sorry, I just couldn't get it to show up well in the photo! The sentiment is from Perfect Phrases.Have a great one...thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hey There!
I've got something fun to share today! I've been thinking about using my Silhouette to cut some flowers, I have a beautiful 3-d bloom in my library and I wanted to finally use it! While my little Max was sleeping and Ruby was happy watching her barbie movie in her bed(her sickness hasn't slowed her down hardly at all, so I was happy she would lay down and watch for a little while!), I sat down to make one of these beautiful blooms!
I cut the bloom out of some crate paper...isn't it a delicious flower!? I love the silhouette and am so excited to learn how to use it more! I added a bit of lace--isn't that lace stamp awesome!? It is from the new Timeless Textures stamp set from LAD. I stamped it in Raspberry Fizz ink onto the Summer Sunrise paper. My sentiment stamp is from the Perfect Phrases stamp set, also from LAD.I've come to the conclusion that I've got to get to work on my "studio" again...is it the fact that the sun is shining? I've been having the urge to vacuum under the beds, clean out drawers, and now my studio space is driving me crazy! I'm looking for new furniture--maybe some office furniture? But I'm not sure exactly what I want yet! What is your favorite thing about your work space?
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great one!!

I paired the plane image with a sentiment from another LAD set, Things That Go. Which happens to be another GREAT boyish type set, but could be used for eithe boys or girls depending! I used some MME Alphabet Soup paper and sprinkled on a few PTI buttons...quick and to the point!Hope you are staying warm and enjoying yourself today! Thanks for stopping by! Make it a great one!

Time...
Onto other things...I've got a card to share today with a new single from LAD, it's called Wise Man's Treasure. I think it's a great image...I wanted it make a more masculine feeling card...and this paper just fit the bill. It's from Basic Grey.
Time...I'm working on getting a better hold on this for the coming year. I want to make sure I'm spending my time on things that are really worth while and that will help me become better. I want to capture my sweet moments...and remember them for always! I am working hard to treasure my time and make sure it is well spent....as it goes faster than I'd like I know this will be a daily work in progress!!
Thanks for stopping by friends...have a wonderful day, well spent!!

Hot Dog!
I've made a resolve...to MAIL my cards again! I've gotten into a rut, to just make most of them and then they sit...NOT in 2011! I'm going back to my roots and make cards to send to people I love! Coming from a large family (Max was grandchild 43 for my parents!) we've got plenty of people that love a little something special in the mailbox on their b.day! With facebook, email and texting, it's easy to say happy birthday--but those little special nuggets in the mailbox are SO much fun to receive, that I'm really excited to get myself back into the habit!
So, here is one of the first cards going out tomorrow. I think this stamp set is one of my all time favorites from LAD...it's called Party Animals. It's been around a long time...and I think it is a super great kids/easy masculine/great girlie birthday set! Very versatile...if you ask me!:)
I paired up this "hot dog" with some fun animal print paper from sassafras...great bold colors for our first birthday of the new year!I'm going to send more cards again...anyone else just find themselves hoarding what you create!?
I hope you have a great one...thanks a bundle for stopping by!! See you tomorrow!

This single was released on the 1st, you can pop over to the blog here, and see what else was released. It will be great for Valentine's Days, but I think it can just be a great "just because" image also. I'm really excited about it!:)
I paired it up with some delicious papers from MME, I love the colors in this collection...simply delicious!! This little one is off in the mail already...can't wait until February!Hope you all have a great one...thanks so much for stopping by! I'm ready to get my daily posts (well, M-F) back running again...so thanks for being patient with me and sticking with me while I enjoy my little newborn. Who, by the way is no longer a tiny little newborn! He weighs over 14 lbs now and is just about 7 weeks old! He is so much fun...I'm seriously loving every second I get to hold him!

So Thankful!
I want to share a couple of gifts that we made for my kids' teachers at school. We had these great smelling fall candles...and wrapped them up with great fallish paper, ribbons and gave them a little pilgrim image to share our gratitude for some fantastic teachers!! The images are from LAD, the little Pilgrim Girl is a single and the sentiments came from the Garden Inspirations stamp set.
I've got some fun in things to share...next week I'll be back to posting more often!! Thanks so much for being such great and supportive friends...I'm so thankful for all of you that share just a few minutes of your day with me!! Oh, and for those that think I've dropped off the planet and haven't stopped by for a while..my reader has about 800 items in it right now...I'm getting there....keep up the great inspiration!!:)Wednesday, September 15, 2010
LAD Mix Preview!
I paired this great autumn image up with something else super fun..don't you love this great polka dot paper?! It's from the new Digital Paper pack, Autumn Mix, also being previewed today! It's a great pack of paper and perfect to have to print as much as you'd like to print! I love that feature of digital paper!
This next card is a "Lucy" Original. My sweet daughter fell in love with this mix!!
My newly 6 year old daughter made this card. She wanted to stamp with me and fell in love with the mix too...she wanted to make a "spooky" card. So, she went to town and made this card all by her self...and wanted me to take a photo of it and them make it so she could "see it on the computer." Didn't she do a great job!? I think it turned out great!Ok, time to run. Have a great day and thanks a bunch for stopping by!!

Soccer Anyone?
I used some of my new SU Sweet Pea paper, it is so delicous!! I paired up the Old Olive polka dots with some Aqua mist...and love how fresh they look together! I colored in my little sports star with some copics and then mounted him on some Aqua and Olive cardstock and then added some grass, from my MS grass border punch. The "You Rock My World" comes form the School Days stamp set from LAD.For this second card, I stamped my soccer star onto a post-it, to make a mask and then stamped him again and again, making a little team of soccer stars! I think there could be more of these coming along the road...my son was SO excited to see this card...
I used the same sweet pea paper, but teamed it with Spring Rain and Not Quite Navy for my contrasting colors. I color the boys with copics, and then added a few stars. The "You're a star" comes from the "Out of this world" stamp set. My stars were made with my SU star punches.Thursday, November 26, 2009
