Love you

Hey there friends!! I have a little something to share today! I've been really loving the sunshine and the flowers coming up in my yard!!

My card for today was inspired by the colors in my yard!!
Bright colors...man, I am so happy it is springtime!

I used the Bold Blooms stamps from Ellen Hutson for my main image. I stamped them with versamark, heat embossed them with clear embossing powder and then heat set them--onto watercolor paper. I added some color with distress inks and a paintbrush. I just smooshed the ink onto my craft mat and then used my paint brush to pick up the color. Then I pulled a move I generally don't--I pulled out a Jennifer McGuire technique! I went to my ironing board and placed the watercolor paper in between two sheets of computer paper and then ironed the embossing powder off. Now, it doesn't look really very different in a photo--but in real life it looks awesome, because there isn't the shiny embossing powder showing how the flowers stayed white...it's really a cool and easy WOW to add to a card!!

Then I used my Lawn Fawn script love die and cut it out of pink fun foam! Yep, it works awesome...and adds great dimension!! The little white you is from an Avery Elle die.

I made my card base, added a nice big square of Lifestyle Crafts shape 'n tape, and isn't it a great yellow!? The perfect color!! I added a couple of Bold Blooms dies behind my watercolor paper and then added a few Doodlebug "sprinkles!"

I am linking this card up to Ellen Hutson's Mix It Up challenge--using Ellen Hutston
 and Lawn Fawn!

I am also linking up to Simon Says Stamp Challenge! Spring Flowers/Showers!

Thanks a bundle for stopping by!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!! This is my first of two posts for today, it's Saturday which means a new Retro Sketch today too!!

I hope your day is filled with the people you love and that you have a wonderful day expressing it today!! I've got a little valentine, this one is for my little Ruby. She has seen this, she comes to my desk looking at everything and telling me how wonderful I am:) oh, how I love her!!

I used the lovely Tootharina stamp today!! I paired her up with a little tag form the dollar spot at target!! I love finding gems at the dollar spot!!

The love is the Lawn Fawn script "love" die. I love it and know it will get a bundle of use!! I used some wood veneer hearts--silent cartwheel here--and it is perfect for my sweet little valentine!!

Have a good one....see you back for Retro Sketch soon!!

Hello!!

Morning friends! Today is a fun day...it happens to be my birthday!!:) I am heading to a fun little "German inspired" town--called Leavenworth-- in the mountains today and I am thrilled!!! We so miss the our German home...it's been about 5 years since we've been home and I can't believe it! We made such great friends and had such a great time there...anyway, today we hope to be a little home sick for Germany!!;)

I am excited to share this fun little one with you today. I love this Yeti. My little boy knew just who this was when he walked into my office...that made me happy!! This is the new retro sketch for today!! You'll have to pop over to the blog for the reveal of the sketch, but here is my take on it!! We are on sketch 146 this week!!
I stamped the Yeti first, them made a mask to put over him and then used a MFT hillside (can't think of it's right name to save my life...)die to make a little snow capped hill. I used tumbled glass distress ink for the beautiful blue sky! Yeti and Hello are both from Lawn Fawn, The thinking of you is from Hero Arts.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! I will be eating fun food, playing with my kids and getting spoiled all along the way...yay!!!

Take care and see you next week!!

I pulled out some fun October Afternoon paper...oh, it makes me smile!! Isn't it funny how paper--designs and colors--make my heart smile so much!! Yep, I love happy paper!!
I used my Lawn Fawn "You're a Hoot" stamps and dies...isn't that font delicious!? Sprinkled the card with a few orange pearls...here you have it!!

Hello...eye think you're neat!

Hey there friends!! I am popping in again today, first post of the day can be found here, to share my card for the new sketch over at Retro Sketches! This one is a super fun one...
It's based off of a card of our guest Tracey's here!

And here is my card!
I used some fun from Lawn Fawn on my card today. The little monster is from the Monster Mash set, as is the sentiment, and the hello is a die called Scripty Hello. I colored my little ghost with copics, cool grays and light blue violet...then used a wink of stella pen along the bottom of the ghost, it looks super fun in real life!! I tried to get a better shot of it...so there is a close up below. I used a project life grid card for my main panel...perfect size aren't they!? My patterned paper is from Studio Callico, here and there collection. Oh, and if you noticed my hello is inlaid into the project life card...no dimension there!:)

I hope you get a chance to play along with us over at Retro Sketches this week!! Have a great one and take care!! Thanks a bundle for sharing a few with me today!!

Hello!

Good morning friends!! Hope you are having a lovely weekend! This is our last weekend before school starts!! I am amazed that the time went so quickly, but with a little newborn, time never goes very slow does it!? My kids are excited and then not excited in the same breath! I've been the super easy going, slow start every morning I could this summer!! If my baby slept in a bit, I did too! It's nice that my peeps are old enough to get their own (or help a little one) breakfast and such...yea for slow starting mornings!! Those will be no more!!

Anyway, onto the fun new sketch for Retro Sketches!! This one is based on this card by Erin.  Hello, drool, drool!! Isn't that an awesome card...nearly perfect in my books!! So, the fun sketch...
And here is my card! My daughter that will be in 1st grade (all day long, YEA!!) has a teacher that LOVES owls. I was at Impress yesterday(insert weak knees!!), and saw this little owl die/stamp from Lawn Fawn! It had to be ours...right!? It's from a little set called "What a hoot."

My paper is a lovely collection from Prima..and I love the collection of colors!! I used Hero Arts ink in Pale Tomato and Red Royal for the cute little "rock n' rolled" owl. The branchs are cut with the die from PTI in Trendy Trees. I pulled a bit of gold thread...because I can, right!? And I must! Then onto the "hello!" Can you get over that gold paper!!? I grabbed it at Impress yesterday, it is from Pebbles, the new Jen Hadfield collection...oh my word. It's a super great heavy weight...and it is scrumptious! I grabbed that new hello die too, it's from Savvy Dies. And I love it...love. it.

I hope you play with us at Retro Sketches this week! It is always SO fun to see what everyone comes up with! Oh, the fun, the fun!!

I have another post for today, so come back and see me ya'll...got some fun news to share!!

Hello!

Good morning friends! I hope you are having a great week, Thursday already...time is flying by! Happy May Day to you all!! I can't believe that it is MAY! My little baby will be here in just 14 short days!! I have been looking forward to this month for SO long...can't believe it is finally here!!!

Yesterday was a WONDERFUL sunny day in Seattle! We were at 80 degrees, jumping on the trampoline with swimsuits and sprinklers, eating smoothie pops and enjoying the sunshine!

Today I have a happy sort of card to share, one that my 6 year old Ruby has told me is her, "most favorite card" I have ever made!! She is sweet but we had a lot of fun on this one!!
I started with a large 12x12 Heidi Swapp sunburst stencil, and some distress inks. After the sunbeams were colored, I added some PTI clouds. They have been properly made into shimmery glitter clouds and a couple of them are popped up with foam adhesive. My hello, is from Lawn Fawn. I cut it out about 5 or 6 times with white cardstock. The last one I left in the negative space while I added the rainbow color, with distress inks as well. After I adhered the dies all together, and added it to the card, I applied a thick coat of glossy accents to make it shine!! It is very shiny in real life...you just need to run your fingers all over it (or so says Ruby!).

I am linking this card over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, featuring Lawn Fawn products!:) I hope you have a great day!! Take care, hopefully you will get a chance to enjoy the sunshine in your part of the world today!!

Just Saying Hello!!

Hello Friends! Happy Thursday!! I am popping in to share my take on the new Freshly Made Sketch!  It's a super great sketch!
I pulled out some fun Amy Tangerine paper and my hexagon cover plate...fun times!! I used some Heidi Swapp color shine for my background...breaking out of my comfort zone!! My sentiment is from a set called Grand Greetings, from Lawn Fawn. I added a few green sequins...it must be the excitement for SPRING that I am feeling...I can't seem to get enough of that beautiful green!! Spring has started popping it's head out of the ground in my yard and I am so excited!!

Off to have some birthday fun with my birthday girl today...see you tomorrow!!

Hey There!!

I know it's been a few days since my last post, my finger took a bit longer to feel better than I had anticipated! Please friends, watch your fingers as you close your car doors!;) It's finally being a bit usable and now I can type!

I took the fun class Stenciled with Online Card Classes, and had a wonderful time! It was a great class and I really learned some fun things! I used product that I haven't used before and stretched my comfort level a bit...it was so fun!

I have a couple of cards to share today, that I made for my in class!

This first one was done with some Heidi Swapp mist and a chevron stencil and then the same stencil with some neon Hero Arts pink ink...My paper is from PTI and American Crafts. Stamps from PTI and die cut butterfly PTI too.
This second card, I wish you could feel through the screen!! I haven't used embossing paste before, but oh, the FUN it is!! I used a stencil from Simon Says Stamp and some translucent embossing paste for the chevron, then after I took the stencil off I sprinkled some Aqua Embossing Powder over the paste and use my heat tool to dry it...the result is a wonderful texture and "need to touch"...super fun!! My stamps on this one are from Lawn Fawn...Interlocking Backdrops and Grand Greetings. Oh, I also threw in some silver thread...just a wad of it in the corner...have to say I LOVE that stuff!!

I have a couple more cards that I will share tomorrow, using some fun new things!! Thanks for stopping by peeps and take care!!

You make my day brighter!

Hello friends! Thank you for your comments and well wishes with our crazy weather! I'm happy to report that we got our power late Friday night...and it made us so happy! I have some friends that are still without power and I am so happy that it isn't snowing/icing anymore! We felt so blessed to be able to handle the storm the way we did!

Funny thing, I made this card before the power went out...ha ha ha!! It's a little cutie made with some new Lawn Fawn stamps I picked up from the one and only Amy...love that girl!!
I have to say how thankful I am for the simple things this week...and I'm so happy that my kids get to go to school this week!;) I'll be back tomorrow...take care and see you soon!!
