Today's the day!

Good morning friends! Happy Tuesday to you all! Today is the first day of school! We're hoping that everyone has a great experience with new sharpened pencils and boxes of brand new crayons!! I thought I'd share a little something we made for my daughter's kindergarten teacher!

I used the All About School printable stamps from The Cutting Cafe for this card today. Since my daughter doesn't really start her normal schedule until next week, we're still working on the perfect little something to go along with this card, but my daughter is so happy....she LOVES purple and can't seem to get enough of it!

We found this fun ribbon at Michael's last week and we were both really excited to use it on a card for Lucy's teacher.

I hope you have a great day today...enjoy the sunshine if you have some! Our weather has been playing a little "fallish" this past week...so my fall decorations are just calling me from storage...and I can't wait to embrace fall and all the great times that come with it!

Thanks for stopping by! Take care and make it great!!

Cardabilities Sketch 10

Good morning friends! I hope you are all doing well! I'm in a house with some excited kids, school starts tomorrow and they are READY to get back to it! We've had a great summer, full of great memories and a lot of fun...it's been great.

I've got the Cardabilities Sketch #10 to share today with you today! I had a great time with the sketch and hope you get a chance to play along!

I'm getting excited for Fall...the colors are so wonderful and that little chill in the air...pure heaven for me! I may or may not be getting ready to put my Halloween decorations up...I love this time of year!! I decided to use Chocolate Chip, Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise for my color scheme for this card.

My stamps are from PTI, Polka Dot Basics 2, and Butterfly Dreams. I used my circle nestabilies to make my die cut circles and then the butterfly die from PTI for my butterfly. My curly label punch went to work for my sentiment's home and then I sprinkled a few yummy buttons into the mix also!

Come play along with us over on the Cardabilities blog, there will be a load of inspriation there!
Take care and make it great!

Happy Birthday

Happy Friday morning friends! Today, the 27th of August, is a day that my kids have been waiting for all summer long...tonight we are going to the Mariner's Baseball game-and it is Ichiro Bobble-head night! My kids are thrilled beyond belief to get to go to the game on such a great and exciting night...now here is hoping we get there early enough to get our own Ichiro Bobble-heads!

I wanted to share a little birthday card I made to accompany Princess Mary's birthday name block. The image for this card is from the September Monthly Mix, "Treasured Trinkets." Isn't that a great image!? My daughters think it is one of the best stamps I have to date.
I stamped the horse across the page and then colored them in with my copics. I added a bit of bling, in the form of glitter and rhinestones! The Happy Birthday was punched out with my word window punch and mounted on a fancy label punch. The patterned paper I used is from Making Memories.

Hope you have a great weekend! I'm hoping to get a few projects finished up so I'll be back to the daily posting next week...here's to hoping!:)

Make it great friends!!

A bit crafty....

Good afternoon friends! We just got home from a "end of summer" party and have been having a bit of lazy afternoon...and it's so fun! School starts Tuesday and I think we're all set, and doing our best to enjoy these last few lazy days!!

I wanted to pop in today and share a fun couple of projects that I've just finished up. My daugher went to a birthday party today for her friend Daisy...and when we were thinking of a fun gift to purchase for her(she turned 6), I thought about all the toys and things that we have that we don't need more of! So we started thinking of thing we could make for Daisy...and then I had this idea and here is a little name plaque for her room...and she LOVED it!:) That made me really happy to hear!
I have a Silhouettte and am loving it...using it a lot and am really having fun learning how to use it more and more! I painted the wood a nice lavendar color, added some MM paper with Mod Podge-and then was patient for it to dry(that was hard...waiting for the drying kills me!). I used my Silhouette to cut the black "Daisy" and white "princess" and princess crown on the 'y'. After I added my vinyl, i added a couple of little rhinestones, one on top of the 'i' and then the other on the crown. I attached them to the board using their self-adhesive sticky, but then covered the block with another coating of Mod Podge and waited for it to dry. The last touch was a wrapping of white Tulle and Plum Pudding ribbon around the edges of the block.
This block is for my niece, Princess Mary. We used a little different color scheme, Ocean Breeze spray paint but MM paper to cover the board with.

I hope you have a great day!! Thanks a bundle for stopping by! See you soon!!

Count your blessings...

Good morning and happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! We had a good productive one and it feels so good to have some things crossed off our never ending list of "things to do!" We're into the last week of summer and hoping to get as much play time in as possible! I've got a kindergartener and second grader starting and they are really excited!!

I got a chance to draw the sketch for the LAD sketch this week(gulp) and here is my card I based the sketch on. You can see the sketch here on the blog, and share your take on the sketch either on Facebook or in the Customer Gallery.
I used the new September Monthly Mix and think this little quilt is a really fun image. And as for counting my blessings, I'm working on doing a bit more of that...I really do have a lot to be thankful for! I'm in week 28 of my pregnancy and am so excited to have this new little person join our family...

I hope you have a great one today!! Make it great!!

LAD Design Team Challenge

Good morning friends! I hope you are doing well today! Are you enjoying the last few weeks of summer, or are you back in school already!? I know of several that have started school already and can't belive it's almost that time again! We've stocked up on school supplies, shopped for clothes and shoes and the kids are patiently awaiting finding out what teacher they will have for the coming year...all sorts of excitement here!

Today is the Lizzie Anne Design Team Challenge. We were supposed to find something that inspired us and then share the photo of it and also the card that it inspired! I was looking through my House Beautiful Magazine(love that one)on our road trip a couple of weeks ago and came across this page...instantly fell in love and knew it was the inspriation I would use for this challenge! Isn't it a great room...love the color combo...surprised!?;)
So, for my card, I used Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, and a pop of Raspberry Fizz for my color palette. I used the colors as inspiration, but also the layout of the magazine page for my card...paying attention to the pretty curves and such in the fireplace and that awesome frame! I thought this great chair would be a prefect image to use and love how it turned out!!
I used my Houndstooth embossing folder and a layer of Hawaiian Shores cardstock for my main background. I love how it paired up with the houndstooth on the chair...fun, fun, fun!! I rounded the corners of the layer with my corner chomper and then tied a nice white ribbon around it before attaching it to the card base.

I used my Labels 8 nestabilites to follow the curves in the inspriation photo...I cut a white and summer sunrise label and then stamped the chair in raspberry fizz and then added the sentiment in a dark chocolate ink. Both the chair and sentiment are from the August Mix, Turn Towards the Sun.

I attached the frame to the card with dimensionals and then added some summer sunrise colored rhinestones...just a little added bling! The last touch was a pinch of pink tulle and a rapsberry fizz button on the knot of my ribbon.

I hope you get a chance to see what the other DT girls have come up with...I love seeing people share their inspriation!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

Hello There!

Good afternoon/evening friends and happy Tuesday! I hope that you are doing well...we are enjoying a record number of Otter Pops and frozen anything this week...we're having super warm-95ish degrees--and can't belive how thankful I am for my A/C! We've been really thankful these last several days that we can find releif from the heat!! My baby has been eating her weight in Otter Pops...so much fun!

I got a fun little bit of joy in the mailbox yesterday...the new LAD Monthly Mix for September! The mix is called "Treasured Trinkets" and it's delicous and full of great images...you can see a preview of the whole mix on the LAD blog here.

I loved this leaf image and decided to break it in first. I used some River Rock cardstock for my card and stamped the image in River Rock ink and stamped it over and over again to make my backgound. The I stamped the leaf image onto white cardstock and used my square punches to add a little Soft Suede scallop and then mounted them onto River Rock again.

I laid a strip of Soft Suede down, added my squares and then decided to add a few little pretties--pearls were a perfect choice! My Soft Suede ribbon tied around the card and then my "Hello There" sentiment was stamped with Soft Suede ink.

I'm excited to have more time to play with this mix...it's a goodie!! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great evening!! Make it great!

Happy Birthday!

Good morning friends! Here's a second post for today...be sure to scroll down to see the Cardabilities Sketch reveal...it was a super fun one!!

Today I've got a cute Happy Birthday card with images from the August Mix from Lizzie Anne Designs! Isn't that a great cupcake!?
I paired the fun cupcake up with some Basic Gray paper and a little bit of chocolate trim..fun, fun, fun. I also used some red sparkly fluff on each of the cherries...love that little bit of detail!

I hope you get a chance to check out the other girls participating in the LAD Mix blog hop! Check out the LAD Blog for more details!:)

Have a great one and take care!!

Cardabilites Sketch #9

Good morning friends!! I hope you are doing well!! We are just getting back into the swing of things and getting normal again, after being out of town! Today is another fun reveal day for the Cardabilites Design Team! We're showing our take on Sketch #9 today.
I used the inspiration from my outfit for my color palette today! I love this combo...can't help it! I started with a white card, then followed by a Raspberry Fizz layer of cardstock. My Fizz layer has been polka-dotted with Raspberry Fizz ink and polka dots from the PTI set, Polka Dot Basics II. They are a little hard to see in this photo, but in real life they are much easier to see. I was thinking of what to use for the corner portions of this sketch and thought these great flowers would be a great touch! I used my daisy flower die, from SU, and my big shot to make these fun flowers. I used Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz cardstock for my flowers.

The center part of my card is Aqua Mist with a Hawaiian Shores twill ribbon ties around. My sentiment is stamped in Raspberry Fizz and is from the Everyday Button Bits stamp set, also from PTI.

Be sure to take a peek at the fun creations that the other DT members came up with!! Take care and have a great one!!

I'm Back!!

Good afternoon friends! I've been away...on vacation and enjoying some great time with my little family! We are home again and I'm working on getting back into my groove...and getting everyone back into some sort of routine! After days and days of midnight for everyone's bedtime and playing all day long, we're working on getting some sort of order back into our days!

I've got some fun from the Cutting Cafe to share today!! Regina has done it again with this super fun set helping me get ready for a fun little something for my kid's teachers! I love this great bingo-type board...isn't it great!? There are a bundle of great images in all of the new school stuff that Regina has just listed on the blog.
The images I'm sharing today are from the All About School printable set. I love the images and know that you will too!! I've got one little giftie for the first day of school all finished up! I took a take out container-that has been sitting around for a good year in my stash-and filled it up with black binder clips! I got a pack of them at the dollar store and filled this little take out container with them and then added a smaller "teach" board and "thanks teacher" to make a litle tag...super quick and I know it will be a useful gift for the beginning of school!

It feels good to be getting back into the groove...I've got some fun planned for this weekend, with another Cardabilities Sketch reveal and the LAD Mix blog hop on the 15th!! I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the last few weeks of summer!

Take care and thanks a bundle for stopping by!!
