boo!

Good morning friends! Happy day..today is my daughter's last soccer game! Now, yes, we've enjoyed the season, she's done great and really loved every second...but it will be so nice to have a small break from running around!! You know what I mean, right!?

I had an idea that was brewing in my mind...and this is kind of what it turned into! I used some designer paper from SU, punched them into squares and attached them to a card front--then sent that card front through my big shot with my top note die, and I got this lovely black and white quilted note!
I used some SU dies for my letters, and cut them out of black cardstock. I've rediscovered my love for this great MS glitter...it's chunky and soft, like tinsel! I used SU heat and stick powder to get my glitter adhered...and then attached my letters with dimensional adhesive!

Working on my stuffs for card class this week! We're going with an "owl" theme this week...and I'm so excited!! Oh, the fun, the fun!! Stay tuned....

Good Morning friends! I hope you're having a great week! We're all getting back into the swing fo things, but boy, getting up is hard to do!:) I'm starting my 6 am workouts again and yep...it's going to kill me for a few days!

I wanted to share a fun card I made for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge. You can see the challenge and great inspiration from Ashley here. The challenge was to use pink, red and black for the colors and then use hearts. I happen to love these colors and really wanted to play along! I used the CPS sketch 148 for the layout of my card too.
I chose real red, raspberry fizz and this fun black patterned paper from AC for my colors. I used my top note die and my big shot for the main panel. The sketch I used from CPS has a smaller center piece, but that is the fun of using a sketch, you can make it "yours" by making your card just the way you want to!

I used my heart punch from SU to make several real red hearts and added them to my red top note. I tied some rapsberry fizz satin ribbon around, make a fun little flat bow, and added a button. My sentiment is from PTI's Papertrey stamp set. The little heart next to the sentiment is raised with a dimensional.

It felt good to play along with a few challenges...I so enjoy that! I've got another card to share tomorrow that is challenge related as well, so be sure to stop by! Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Halloween!

Good morning friends! I hope that you're having a great day! Happy Friday! I can't belive the crazy day we've got today...LOTS of fun, that's for sure! We've got to get costumes ready, one child wears hers to preschool, then home for a few hours to make a chocolate sheet cake for a later party, then off to pick up the brother from school and his party, off to dad's office (Microsoft throws GREAT parties!) to trick or treat and enjoy the fun party there, then off to a party with our church friends and eat the chocolate cake made earlier today....then off to bed on a sugar high and hopefully not too sore tummy's! Well, we'll see how it all goes! But we're excited for a great day today!!

I thought I'd share a fun little treat we made for Ms. Kari, the music teacher. I've seen these little cute "frankie" boxes all over, and thought it would be a perfect not too spooky but fun way to present a little "yummy in your tummy" treat! When I saw the pink M&Ms at the store--PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness, I was happy to purchase a few bags and donate more to the cause of looking for a cure...and then let's be honest, who can pass up PINK (two delightful shades I might add) M&Ms?!
So, I started with my Fancy Favor Die. It is a SU exlusive die and is awesome. I cut it out with my Big Shot in Old Olive cardstock. I cut two top note dies, also a SU exclusive die, and also in Old Olive. I cut the bottom off the top note, so she would sit flat on the surface place upon.

For her dainty face, I used my 1" circle punch to make the two whites of her eyes, and Olive eye lids, which I just cut one punch in half for. I used my 3/4" circle punch for the two blacks of her eyes. I used my round tab punch and then cut it in half for her cute nose. I just drew her mouth with a fine tip black marker. For this great pink head of hair, I just cut another Top Note out of Pink Passion cardstock and then cut it in a crazy way to give her a fun fringe! I added a little bow, black 1/4" grosgrain and black/white gingham with a fun little pink button for some fun texture!I added her hair bow with a mini glue dot.

After I made her all up, I attached her face top note to one side of the fancy favor box. I added another olive top note to the back side of the box, so she is super cute!! We added a bit of black paper "mix" and then put the cello bag of M&Ms into the box. I added a quick little tag to the gingham ribbon bow. I just stamped the "yummy" stamp from the retired Yummy stamp set, with Pink Passion ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then used my large oval punch to punch it out. I layered it onto a black scalloped oval and then onto a Pink Passion wide oval.

This little friend came together quick and is so cute! Ms. Kari really enjoyed her...and that is what our aim was! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Sweet Pea

Good Monday morning friends! I hope you had a great weekend! We were a bit more relaxed, kind of, we are trying to kick the cold/etc. that is wafting through our family right now! We are almost all on the up, Ruby started coughing pretty hard last night...dang! But, the kids are at school today, so that is impovement!

I thought I'd take a quick break from holiday cards and I went with a new baby card...a Sweet Pea card! I took the colors from the card from the Sweet Pea rub-on that I wanted to use, it is from an American Crafts rub-on set. So for the color palette today, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip...yum!!
I stared with a Crushed Curry card base and then a layer of the Crushed Curry dsp. I used my fiskars apron lace border punch on a strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock and then added a strip of Old Olive just under the chocolate. I laid down a single strip of sticky strip so I could lay my ribbon (upside down) down and have it cover the seam of the two papers. I also added another curry pattern of dsp lower on the card base.

I used white cardstock for my rub-on and then cut it out with my circle nestabilites and a trip through the big shot. I also cut out a Chocolate Chip circle and an Olive scallop circle with my nesties. I made a little bow out of my Curry ribbon and then added a large Chocolate Chip brad to the center. I added it to the card with dimensionals.

Hey there friends! How in the world is today Thursday, and where has this week gone!? It's been a quick one for me! We're trying to stay healthy....the cough and sniffles have started to move through the kids and I'm doing my best to keep them at bay! The change in the weather always brings a few of these things to my family. But, the leaves are falling off the trees, and on the walk to school this morning, my son informed me that it really was fall, "look at all the leaves on the ground!"

So, onto today's card! I have a girlfriend that is need of a little extra love this week...she's having a rough time right now and I wanted to make something fun to send her in the mail. So, my card for today was started!
I started with my vanilla card basee. I used my fiskars apron border punch on a layer of chocolate chip cardstock and then mounted it on my card. I used a piece of an oldie but GOODIE, stampin' up's retired Au Chocolate dsp. I love this paper...it is so beautiful! It is so fun to get intot that stash of things that have taken a back seat for a while!! I used sticky strip to attach my dusty durango ribbon and then ruffled it a bit...which makes it a good contestant in the current Moxie Fab Challenge.

I used my blossom nestabilities to cut three flowers out of dusty durango and chocolate chip cardstock. I did a number on them, distressing them, then put them together with a chocolate chip brad. I attached it to my card and then moved to my sentiment.

I wanted to say "love you" but didn't really have the right stamp to use...so I chose to go with some alphabet stickers. These are from American Crafts. They were origionally white, but I went over them with my dusty durango stampin' write marker to make them match just perfect! I went over them a couple of times--to get a nice solid look.

I hope it will bring a smile to her face and help her know how much I love her and am thinking about her!! Thanks for stopping by today...have a great one!!

BOO!

Good morining! I hope you are all doing well! I'm trying to decide if it is time to turn the heater on...we've been having beautiful fall weather but then getting really warm in the afternoons...but we all woke up today freezing...so fun!! I think today is a definate soup and cornbread day...maybe some spiced cider too! YEA!

As I was working on some projects, I came across this sketch from Caardvarks. It was from the Sktechfest they had last week. While I missed the opportunity to play along with the sktchfest, as it is over now, I thought I'd still like to play along with the great sketches! So, here is the sketch I used for my card.

I had a lot of fun with the sketch and am happy with the results. I did take a little creative liberty with the sketch and move the sentiment up a little...but that is the joy of a sketch!

So, I started with a pumpkin pie card base. I layered some basic black and some night and day paper onto my card base. I used my circle scissor cutter and made a basic black circle and attached it to the left side of my card and trimed the excess off.

I used my flower layers die and the Big Shot to create my flowers. Two of them are the Night and Day paper and then the harringbone one is actually fabric. I gave all my flowers their centers, a pumpkin brad, large black grommet, and pumpkin rhinestone brad; and then attached them to my card. The smallest flower is added with dimensionals.

For my sentiment, I used some retired SU halloween rubons. My large oval punch punched the pumpkin paper out, then I made a nice home for it with my scallop oval and black cardstock. I added the sentiment to the card with dimensionals also.

My last addition to the card was the white spider rubons...aren't the a great touch!? They are the same retired halloween rubons from SU.

I know just who this card will give a fun scare to this Halloween....I can't wait to get it in the mail! Thanks so much for stopping by! Make it a great one!

Birthday Wishes

Good Morning Friends! I am so happy today! Today is a special marker for my mom, she is 70 years old today! I've flown in to surprise her with my two sisters that live in Florida and Texas. We've been keeping secrets from my mom, and are planning so much fun! She'll read this and giggle as she will already know we've arrived for her special day! I love surprises!
This card is one that we made at a my last card class. Everyone had a great time with it, and using the very versatile Sincere Salutations it could be a card for any occasion! So, here goes the scoop.

We started out with a white card, and a soft suede layer on the card. Next we used melon mambo, crushed curry, and rich razzleberry cardstock and ink. We stamped the corresponding ink onto cardstock with the Circle Circus stamp set. We used the corner rounder on each of the corners of the colored cardstock.

We ran the Melon Mambo cardstock through the Big Shot with a swiss dots embossing folder and then used the Blossom Party Original die and the Big Shot to cut the fun flowers--they all layer so nicely!

Celebrate!

Good afternoon friends! I've had a fun day getting myself ready for another class tonight. As I was finishing up preperations I had to sit and finish this card. I've had the "bones" of this card on my desk for a couple of weeks now...and am very happy with how it finally turned out! I can't tell you how much I love the Crushed Curry color...I adore it! I used it on this card along with the Night and Day Specialty dsp from the Holiday Mini catalog(avaliable September 1!). I love this dsp too..the designs are fabulous!
The card began with a Crushed Curry card. I layerd a piece of Basic Black card stock followed by a piece of the Night and Day dsp. The Lattice BigZ die came to work, and took a piece of Crushed Curry on a trip through the Big Shot. The Curry lattice was then attached to another piece of dsp, and the snipped with paper snips to give just the perfect outline. I attached the lattice to the card and then went to work on my flower.

I used my Flower Layers BigZ die to create these great flowers! I think I like this particular flower best when made from dsp, instead of cardstock, just a random FYI!:) I used a couple of different patterns of paper and took then through the Big Shot to get a variety of flowers to choose from to build my perfect bloom! I scrunched them up in my hand and made the dsp all wrinkled and distressed. I layered them together and then added a misc. button that matches the Curry color! **Go Stampin' Up! for producing such great new In Colors, they are everywhere!**

For the final touch on this card, I had to find the perfect sentiment. I used the Celebrate You stamp from the A Little Birthday Cheer stamp set. I stamped the sentiment using Black ink and whisper white cardstock. I trimed it to make a little banner like feel...and there you have it! I attached it to my card with a glue dot and dimensionals.

Dozen Sharpened Pencils

Howdy Friends! I'm a bit late in posting today, but I've been consumed with laundry and all that goes with it today! I've had a fun time getting something for my son's grade 1 teacher too...A Dozen Sharpened Pencils.
I did my best to not have any of the flowers the same, so there are 12 different flowered pencils in this cute bucket! I found the bucket at target yesterday in the dollar (or let's be honest, 10$ spot) spot. I uesd the Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' Kit for my paper/color selection and fun! I used a bunch of different items on the flowers. The stamps I used were from the Petal Pizazz stamp set. I used my Flower Layers BigZ die and My Big Shot for several flowers. I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder for several flowers. I uesd a lot of brads, some buttons, some rhinestones, and even some acrylic and felt flowers too. I used my trusty circle punches for a lot of the fun, and my Circle Scissor came to my aid too...I LOVE that thing!!

Good morning friends! I'm in denial that today is Thursday, how did that happen!? A crazy busy week, that's how! But a great one...I'm looking forward to just laying a bit low today...enjoying these last few days with my little ones before school starts.

I know that it is almost time for Beate's Weekend Sketch again, as the sketch comes out on Friday, but I've had this card waiting in the "wings" since Monday...and just finally getting on stage! So, here is the card I made using Beate's WSC93. I think this sketch is super fun...will use again for sure! Also, on this card I used some of my new "Something To Crow About" stamps from the September LAD monthly Mix!

Here is the set and it's images, a lot of fun in this mix, that's for sure! They will be avaliable soon!So, for my card, started with the fun flower image. I loved the polkas on the flower and kept the same polka theme by using some polka dot paper(SU Night and Day Specialty dsp from the Mini...coming soon!) and by embossing my Bermuda Bay panel with my Swiss Dots embossing folder. Polka's are fun.

My flower image was stamped with Black Stazon ink, and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. I colored the image with my In Color Stampin' Write Markers, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay. My flower image took a trip through the Big Shot with an oval nestability, to be cut and then embossed. I took some Crushed Curry on the same trip and used a scallop oval nestability to cut and emboss...I love the look of the nestabilities shapes embossed! That little detail is so fun!!

My card is a Crushed Curry base. I used a strip of Night and Day dsp, and then a strip of Melon Mambo ribbon(just used the back of it for a nice solid option) for my vertical lines. My horizontal Bermuda Bay panel went on a trip in a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder through the Big Shot...and came home with some great polkas!

I stamped my sentiment in Melon Mambo ink--the stamp is from the Everyday Sayings stamp set. I used my handy dandy word window punch to make it just right. A little button for some fun detail and then it was time to finish my flower.

I attached my flower to the card with dimensionals and then added some glossy accents to the colored parts of my flower. They are super rounded and shiney in real life..very fun!

I'm going to send this to my girlfriend that is having terrible back problems right now...a litle bright and cheery card, don't you think!?

Mover and Shaper...

Good morning friends! I'm happy to report that my husband and the group his was hiking with made it home Friday afternoon from their 57 milke hike! It was so good to finally hear that they were ok! After 5 days of not hearing anything..I was very happy to see my husband's cell phone calling me! They had a great time, go TOTALLY rained on every day...and "forgot what it felt like to be warm"...so I'm glad to have him home! We had a good weekend papmering him and being happy he was back and safe!!

Have you tired the Sizzix Mover and Shapers?! Oh my word, they are a lot of fun!! When my upline Boni came over to stamp a few days ago, she brought hers up and let's just say...what a fun purchase!! One of my favrotie things about it, is that the little shape it punches out-here the curly label-is large enough to use as a layer under a punch from the curly label punch! That made me so excited! The shapes it cuts out of the cardstock are all coordinating with SU paper punches...I love the layering fact!!
So, for this card today, I started with some 12x12 textured Bashful Blue cardstock. I am happy to report that I actually cut into some textured c/s...YEA! I just forget that I have it...but am making a resolve to use it more!! I put a 6x12 piece of cardstock and the mover and shaper Bigz xl, die through the Big Shot. You just put the cut out shape where you want the "window" to appear on your card...so much fun! When it comes out of the Big Shot, you've got a great little window to play with!

The image that is on the inside of the card, that you can see through the window, is an image from the For You stamp set. I stamped the flower image on Whipser White cardstock with Certainly Celery ink, then used my curly label punch to make a perfect shape to fit in my window! I used my Boho flower punch to make a little Bashful Blue bloom to add to the mix-and then added a little pearl from the Pretties Kit to give it a little something special!

I added a Whisper White scallop border to the bottom of the front of the card, with my handy dandy scallop border punch. I used my Certainly Celery ink to ink up my little thank you sentiment from the teeny tiny wishes set. I attached the scallop to the card and then tied my certainly celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around the seam.

This die just made it to my list of things that I'd love to play more with!! Thanks for stopping by today! Make it a great one!

Cork #3

Good Morning! So, you all know that I love cork by now, right!? I've had a great time playing with the roll I had, and get this, I need a new roll!! I love running out of something because I've had a great time with it!! This card is the last of my "cork series" this week:). But I have to tell you, cork is addicting, so watch out! This card started with the Cork flower, it was made from taking a trip through the Big Shot with the Blossom Party BigZ die. I had it sitting staring at me...so to work I went! I used the Blossom Party again for the great Sage Shadow bloom above the cork.

I was really happy when I started to think of way to get my bloom to stick to the cork...just thinking what the perfect center for that sage bloom was...then had an idea that I'm sure came from someone somewhere! I used my Glassy Glaze, but Crystal Effects would work the same way, to fill the "gutter" of the ribbon slide-then used the awesome Chocolate Chip glitter from the Fine Supernova glitter pack, to make this awesome Chocolate Chip glittered ribbon slide! After it dried, I used a clear Rhinestone brad to attach the ribbon slide to the cardstock and the cork....um, I LOVE it! It's not super sparkly in the photo..but IRL, it is so sparkly!

The card is a piece of Sage Shadow! Yep, it's making a comeback! I haven't reached for this color in a long while..but it is so nice a fresh! My Whisper White cardstock took a trip through the Big Shot with the new Perfect Details Texturz Plate. Very nice and subtle texture to the card...fun!

My eyelet border punch went to work to make me a little Sage Shadow lace, then I topped it with a piece of Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain. I just used a strip...of Sticky Strip to hold my ribbon in place. Then came time to add my flower!

The last detail was the sentiment, from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. It was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I used my tab punch to get a nice rounded edge for my sentiment. I used my 1 3/4" circle for the Sage layer behind my white sentiment.

Good morning friends! I hope that you are doing well! We had a great night last night, it was my son's first soccer practice...cleats, shin guards(they sure make better guards than I ever had playing soccer!), tall socks, water bottle, the whole enchilada. He had SUCH a great time it was a lot of fun to witness. Yes, my presence was requested, a drop off/pick up was not optional! But when Dad is home, he will be the assistant coach, and that has my son just as excited as can be! Don't you love the beginnings of Fall! Well, speaking of FALL, I have some fun new goodies to share!

I am so excited to share my post today...I have had such a fun time playing the last few days! So, on with the show!

Ok, at first glance you will notice this FAB designer paper! It is from a new set of paper called Autumn Meadows...Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Taken with Teal, More Mustard and Very Vanilla are the colors that will beckon you! The patterns in this set=deliciousness! I'm excited for you to get a chance to enjoy...September 1!!

So, other another new tool on the scene, an Ornament punch! I've used it in a "non ornament" way, it's upside down to make the petals of my flower! But, as soon as I saw this punch, a fun flower bloomed in my head and wanted to come play! It will also be avaliable starting September 1st! Another fab. thing about the punch, yep, it has coordinating Ornament stamps and Rub-Ons! If you need a copy of the Mini, shoot me an email, or post in the comments, and I'll get one right out to you! I think really, this could be the best mini ever!!

Moving forward...My card started with the flower idea. I punched 5 ornaments with the Ornament punch and my beautiful Autumn Meadow paper. I punched a 1 3/4" circle of Really Rust cardstock (but just a scrap would be fine) to attach all of my "petals" to. Once I had them looking perfect I added my 2nd layer.

In keeping with the fun of cork...I used my cork, Big Shot and Blossom Party Originals Die to make my great bloom! It really is something exciting to watch the Big Shot in action, makes me so giddy!! I also used the Blossom Party die(which is a SU exclusive, by the way) to make the little Taken with Teal bloom that is on the cork. My button, isn't that fun! I used one of my Rhinestone Brads, from the Circle Ice collection, and inserted it into a Chocolate Chip button from the Button Latte set! Isn't that a fun one!? I have used this little brad in button method the last few days...FABULOUS! I simply attached the layers together and there you have the fun flower!

For my card base, I used a Taken with Teal card. I used a strip of Really Rust that had been torn for a bit of a "rustic" feel, as the grounding piece on the card. I used a 12 x1" strip of the Autumn Meadows paper for my little pleated strip. I simply folded the paper where it looked right, made some nice tight folds with my bone folder and went the full length of the card! I love this look...will use again for sure!

So, I put my layers all together, added my flower to my card, then moved to the last piece. The sentiment was samped with chocolate chip ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. I love this thanks stamp...from the Thank you Kindly stamp set. I used my key tag punch(it is retired, but it was the perfect fit!), for the perfect home and then added it to my card!

I love fall, I love wearing sweaters, jeans, drinking hot chocolate, hot spiced cider...and this paper made me excited for all of that! I hope it got you excited too!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you make it a wonderful one!!

Good morning firends! I hope you are all doing well today! I've got some fun new goodies to play with today, but this new goodie is from my first new catty order, so it's not quite so new, but so fun to play with!! I'll have a fun post tomorrow with a great new product from the Holiday Mini! Which starts September 1!

So, the star of my post today? The Sizzix BigZ Simple Letter Alphabet...can you say YUM!? I love the fact that the BIGZ dies can cut so many different materials...let the fun begin for sure!

My upline, Boni, came to my house last week to stamp, and this card was the result of a GREAT afternoon with her! I had a roll of cork in the drawer under my Big Shot, and as we were talking about something completely unrelated to the cork, I had a thought. I sat down and starting gettin this card put together...it was SO fun!!
I think we'll do this card for my upcoming stamp class--very all level friendly--don't you think!?

I started by cutting my cork letters. They are so divine IRL! It is amazing that the Big Shot cuts with such ease! I just put the cork on the die, turned the handle and out came these two beautiful letters!

I wanted something contrasting to put them on, so my card is Tempting Turquoise and my patterned paper is Pink Flamingo! My FAB Flamingo paper came out of hiding and was so happy to get some face time! If you'll recall, I love this paper. I was surprised to learn that my supply of it was very depleted! (YEA for needing to order more!!) These two pieces were among my few scraps, and were 100% perfect for the way I "saw" this card! I mounted the patterned paper on Cameo Coral and Summer Sun cardstock.

For my ribbon, I used, can you guess? Sticky Strip to hold the ribbon in place. (surprised?!) To ruffle it, I just made a couple of happy ruffles, and then used some mini glue dots to hold the underside to the card. Then, a tempting turquoise button mounted on foam tape took the scene.

Once I had the other parts of the card finished, I mounted my cork sentiment! I just used my ATG to attach the cork to the card.

Fun, fun, fun, now I'v got to remember to put Pink Flamingo down on my list to re-stock...I LOVE that paper!

Good morning friends! Hope you had a great day today...today marked a day that I'm happy for school to be starting soon! I hope I'm not alone in that! And, my husband is getting ready to go on a 56 mile hike...:) YEA! I've got a photo project lined up and will be working on busily while he is hiking!

For my card today, I'm in the same color scheme as I was in yesterday! I wanted to use this great Cosmo Cricket paper...and I have been dying to ink up this little polka dot purse! The purse comes from the LAD August Monthly Mix.
I stamped my purse on some Very Vanilla paper, ink Chocolate Chip ink. I then colored the purse with Real Red and Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write Markers. I used my Nestabilities and Big Shot to cut the purse out, and emboss the circle. The Real Red scallop circle was also cut and embossed with my Nestabilities.

The card is a Very Vanilla base, then a layer of Real Red and then the Cosmo Cricket paper. I used my new EK large scallop border punch for the Real Red scallops across the bottom, and some Vanilla taffeta ribbon across the belly. I attached my purse scallop with some dimensionals and then moved to my sentiment.


Thank you kindly is from the Circle Sentiments stamp set. I stamped it in Real Red on Vanilla Cardstock and then used my 1 1/4" punch to make it a perfect circle! My 1 3/8" is just the size to layer nicely under my sentiment, and I used the back side of my patterned paper. The button is just a random red button...but oh so cute!

Good morning friends! Hope you are all doing well! Yesterday I had a day to catch up, get laundry done, get some projects finished up, and make caramel popcorn! My family was really happy that the popcorn was finished! I had a slight melt-down while in the middle of the popcorn...please bear with me...

When we moved home from Germany, I wasn't able to bring ANY food stuffs home, other than what would fit in our suitcases. So, I left ALL of my spice collection there for my friends to enjoy. In starting a kitchen from ground zero, you think you've gotten everything you need...then you have a day like I had today. I went to make some cookies to accompany the meal I was taking to a friend's family for dinner tonight, not enough flour. So, brownies could be quick, no cocoa. Ok, homemade Oreos are a quick fast one, but they were not to be, only a carrot cake mix! Then I thought of Caramel Popcorn. So, as I'm finishing the ingredients into the pot on the stove, I realize that I don't have any cream of tartar...get real! So, in my desperation,(it was too close to the time to run to the store!) I married two recipes and it turned out OK, but not the great recipe I was anticipating! And of course this happens when I'm taking something to a friend...I want it perfect, right!? So anyway, as I was talking to my mom trying to salvage my caramel, she reminded me that there are a lot of recipes and she was sure that my marriage of recipes was bound to be like someone's recipe somewhere! Thanks Mom!!

So, I'm going to fill my pantry with baking supplies the next time I go to the store. All those things that I'm used to just "having" because I have a supply of them in my pantry! So, my baking list is a good long one...I just hope I remember everything I feel I don't have!

Thanks for allowing me to share...'preciate it! How about onto my card!? This card was born from the LAD sketch # 90 that Joslyn posted Monday on the LAD blog. I love Josylyn' sketches, she is very clean and simple and I love it!!

I started out with a few stamps from the August Monthly Mix. I stamped the cupcake in Chocolate Chip ink, onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then colored it in with my Real Red and Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write markers. I also outlined the image with my Sahara Sand marker. I mounted this panel on my Very Vanilla card base.

I used my rectangle nestabilities and my Big Shot to get my rectangles cut and embossed. I love my nestabilities, they've been neglected for a while, but boy I do love them! I'm feelin' it again! My scalloped rectangle is Real Red and the patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket.

The circle my button is on is the back side of the Cosmo Cricket paper, punched out with my 1 3/8" circle punch. My button is just a misc. one from my jar of random buttons. The ribbon in the button is Real Red ribbon from Stampin' Up! I attached my button accent to my card with
dimensionals.

My last piece of the mix, was my Smile sentiment. I stamped it in Real Red ink and then used my 1" and 1 1/4" circle punches to give it a home.

Today I want to share a bright happy card! I saw this paper pack from Making Memories a few days ago, it was on clearance for about 4.00$ and such delicious colors! It is their Just Chillin' line. I love that Stampin' Up! nailed their new In Colors this year...I've seen their colors everywhere from home decor to clothing, to other brands of crafting stuffs. I loved that I had paper to coordinate with this at home already!

Guten Tag! Hello Friends! I'm super excited for today...on of my dear friends that lives in Germany is here visiting and I get to see her today!! My kids are so excited...oh, I just can't wait! There aren't many things better than good friends, don't you agree!?

So my card for today is another little Baby girl card. When I made this card here, I had some scraps out on my desk and thought I should break out my new Simple Letters alphabet! It is a great alphabet and the fact that it is a set of BigZ dies for the Big Shot, means I can cut though a number of mediums to get my awesome simple letters! YEA! Today, I just stuck with dsp from the Sunny Day simply scrappin' kit.
So, my card started with my dsp and Simple Letter Alphabet taking a ride through the Big Shot (Have I told you lately how happy I am that I have a Big Shot!? I love that machine!!). As I played with the letters, I decided that I just wanted a clean and simple design.

I grabbed some Pink Passion cardstock and made my cardbase. I wanted the letters to have a good contrast, so decided to use a Whisper White layer to put my letters on. If you look at the bottom of the card, you'll see a little white scallop...that is one of the fun border self adhesive die cuts that comes in the Sunny Day scrappin' kit. I used some Pumpkin Pie stripped grosgrain ribbon to tie around the seam of the Whisper White and Pink Passion cardstock. I love that ribbon!

My last touch was my little flower. I LOVE the new Stampin' Up! exculsive, Sizzlit Flower Fusion die! How fun to have perfectly sized flowers of ANY color or pattern! I ran the flowers through the Big Shot with some Pink Passion and Pumpkin Pie cardstcock. As I placed them on my card, I noticed that what looks like the stem of the flowers, is actually a stripe in the paper! How fun is that!? The button is from the classic Fresh Favorites button set.

Just For You

Hey friends! Hope you are doing well...we're having record breaking heat today...YEA! We've spent a great portion of today inside...it's been great! I got a few more projects finished up in the way of organizing my house...it's coming! So, I feel like it's been productive, inspite of the heat! I just can't get out to the garage this week..WAY too hot for that!

This card is one of those color combinations that I love...but was a bit nervous to try! I am happy with the results...I love the lattice die from SU!
I started this card wanting to use my new flower layers BigZ XL die...it's so fun! I also wanted to use these golden seed beads...and that is how this card was born! I started by running some Basic Gray and Summer Sun cardstock through my Big Shot to make my flowers. The die actually cuts 3 flowers at one time(just fyi.) but I just wanted one of each color. I used some PVA liquid adhesive from Stix2 to adhere the seed beads to my flower. I smooshed the beads into the glue and then put the flower out of the way to dry.

Another fun thing that I used was my new Lattice die! It is a BigZ so it cuts through almost anything you can think of! I used some of my double sided adhesive paper-that can be used in a die cut machine, with punches etc., from Stix2. To use the adhesive one side gets stuck to your paper and then after you cut the image you want-from your machine or punch-just peel the other side of the paper off to expose your sticky side. I stuck my lattice to my Going Gray layer of cardstock. I love that the double sided adhesive paper works so well with punches/die cut machines...it doesn't leave any sticky residue at all!

I layered my lattice layer onto a layer of Summer Sun cardstock and then adhered it all to my Basic Gray cardbase. I wrapped some Basic Gray taffeta ribbon around the bottom of my card and then stamped my sentiment "just for you" from my new Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set with Basic Black onto my card.

The last part of this card was layering the Summer Sun and Basic Gray flowers and then attaching them to the card.

Hello friends! I hope your day is as bright and sunny as it is here in Seattle! Yep, it's bright and sunny in May in Seattle! What a beautful thing! I'm just stopping by for a quickie...wanted to say hey before I'll be gone for a few days! Do you know what today is? The day before the movers bring the sea container to our house...so almost like Christmas Eve! My kids were SO excited to make that connection this morning, they'll get all their toys tomorrow...we are all so excited!

So I was at Joann's in Bountiful, Utah a few weeks ago and found a GREAT stack of paper! Yes, I am a paper-holic! I freely admit it! Back to my story. I found this great stack of paper from DCWV--it's called Recycled. It's full of great designs/colors/texture...way fun! So, I had a coupon and I'm so happy I picked it up! I've had a great time playing with it!

I loved this woodgrain paper-it feels so good! I wanted to use that as my main layer, so I attached it to a ww cardbase and then looked for some great paper to pair with it! I love these little birds! Yes, I'm a huge bird fan right now too!

I cut my bird strip of paper and then a piece of Ridinghood Red cardstock. I scalloped the Ridinghood Red with my scallop border punch and then attached bird paper to my scallop. Next came my ribbon. I used my Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain. Instead of making the ruffles come "forward" I stapled them "up and down." After attaching my ribbon, I attached the scallop/bird/ribbon panel to my woodgrain paper.

I love this "love you" stamp from Technique Tuesday. It is one of Ali Edwards stamps and it is quickly becoming a favorite! I stamped it with Chocolate Chip ink onto WW cardstock. I used my 1 3/4" circle punch to punch a perfect circle! Next, a scrap of Ridinghood Red cardstock made it's way through the Big Shot, accompanied by a scallop circle nestability. I ran the scallop circle through the Big Shot again with my silicone mat to emboss it. I attache the circle to the scallop circle and attached it to my card with dimensionals.

I wanted few little "interest points" so I punced a few circles out of some coordinating paper-and added them to the card. I also added a Coco Latte button...yum!

Just a quick note to tell my girlfriend that I'm so thankful for all the help she's been during our crazy transition time!:)
