Just Because

Hello friends! Where in the world did Monday go? I'm still trying to find it! It is amazing how fast laundry and cleaning and such can make your day go, isn't it!? And speaking of that, my kids are paging me...so this will need to be a quickie!

In this fun card, I used my rainbow stamp from the LAD August Monthly Mix stamp set. The mix is super fun because there are so many different images to be had...very fun to play with! I started the card off by stamping my rainbow image in Palette Hybrid Brown ink on some Very Vanilla cardstock. I then colored the rainbow with my Real Red, Bashful Blue, and Pumpkin Pie stampin' write markers. After I colored the rainbow, I used my trusty Versamarker**one of my all time favorite things**to add some clear embossing powder to the arc of the rainbow. After a little love from my heat tool, the rainbow is super shiny! I used my Sahara Sand marker to outline the image as well. The my handy dandy paper snips**another favorite**came to play and snipped the Rainbow out in no time!

My card's colors were inspired by my patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket. I used a Very Vanilla card base for this 3x3" card. I cut a piece of my great rainbow stripped paper and mounted it on my card. I next grabbed my new scallop border punch from EK success. I scalloped a skinny strip of paper, and attached it about 2/3rds of the way down the card.

The next detail, my ribbon. I've been using my wider ribbon so much lately, I feel like I haven't used my 1/4" ribbon in ages! So, I grabbed some sticky strip**yep, it's a fave too!** to get my ribbon a nice sticky home. I ruffled the 1/4" vanilla the same way I ruffle the wider ribbon...and am really happy with how it turned out! I did use some mini glue dots**can't live w/o them** to make my ruffles stay "attached" to the card. I added my rainbow image to my card with some dimensionals to give it a bit of a lift**yes, I love dimensionals too!**

My sentiment is also from the August Monthly Mix, and i love the font! I stamped it in the same hybrid brown ink pad, then used my word window punch to make a perfect little spot for it on my card! And the last detail the fun button, is just a random orange button that fit perfectly!

I think this is a fun size card to slip into a plate of brownies or cookies! And I love the motivation to share my thoughts-with my friends I love-'just because'!

Hope you have a great one today! I'm getting my list of things to do checked off as quickly as possible...I got two fun packages from the mailman and UPS man yesterday....so some sneak peeks will start tomorrow!! YEA!!

I love your ribbon treatment! It turned out perfectly, and really makes this card say, "WOW". I am addicted to dimensionals too; maybe there is a support group for us? I'm almost up to a pack/week :)
