Elzybells DT Challenge Day!

Good morning friends! Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a good week. It's been a lot of fun for me, filled with baseball, a muscial, physical therapy(for lucy), a piano recital...oh, and a jump-a-thon! It's so fun to see my kids getting involved in activites and watching how they interact with other kids/adults...fun to see them grow into great little people! **Before I forget, because I will forget, I just posted a load of SU stuff for sale on my Boutique page, you can find the link here. I've got too much...got to thin out my stash! So please, take a peek! I've got paper, ink, watercolor crayons, etc. so take a gander!**

Today is a fun day, and Elzybells DT challenge is here! Our challenge was to make a get well card and gift...YEA! I don't know how many times I've wished I'd had a get well card, but for some reason I don't make them very often! I had found these cute little vases at Goodwill the other day, for .50 and bought a few to have, mainly because I LOVE them and they all had fantastic shapes!! I thought a card and some flowers, with a little treat sprinkled in would be a good thing to give someone that was under the weather.

I stared out with choosing some of my favorite Elzybells stamps, the stamps are from the Tags-Floral Circles set. I love this floal circles...so handy and such a great shape! I wanted to keep the card simple and clean. I wanted to have the circles down the side, so I punched a bunch of circles and started playing to get the perfect look!

I used some SU paper, I think it is from the Sweet Pea pack, and it helped me choose Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Pumpkin Pie for my colors. I stamped the flowers in each color, then mounted them on the corrdinating cardstock and then added a few other sized circles and then sprinkled in some fun buttons. My sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I used my word window punch and label punch for the sentiment's home.

For my little vase of flowers, I used my nestabilites Bloom and Daliah flowers to cut some different sized flowers, mounted them together, added a wire stem and then added some felt flowers to the top for a great little umph. I used Sugar Babies candy to fill the vase with and had a blast from my past trying a couple of them...they are so good!! I tied it all up with a great wired orange ribbon and there you have it!: I think I'll make a couple more sets of flowers for some friends I'm going to visit this week!!

Thanks a bundle for stopping by! I appreciate your visits and thoughts!! Hope you have a great one!!

Thanks!

Good afternoon friends! I hope that you are doing well. Today is one of those crazy mom days, so I'll have to be short and sweet today!;)

I wanted to pop in really quickly and share a fun card I made to give my girlfriend. I love this flower image from the LAD June Mix, "Life Is Good." I stamped it several times to make the panel go across my card...but I love the shape of the flowers...so cute!!
I hope you have a great one!! Thanks for stopping by and make it great!!:)

Lizzie Anne Sketch Challenge

Good morning friends. Did you have a good weekend!? We had one full of excitement, rain, baseball, planting our garden, and a lots of fun. I hope that you had a great one too!!:)

Today I am sharing a card based on the LAD sketch challenge for the week. I took a turn today and even drew the sketch!:0 You can find the sketch here, on the LAD blog, please feel free to play along with us on this sketch!
My son's teacher just had a new little girl, and I thought this Noah's Ark single, "Sunshiny Miracles" would make for a sweet little baby card! The colors I've chosen came from the love of this MM paper. I stamped the image, colored it and mounted it on a couple pieces of cardstock. I used some of my fun ruffled ribbon from Su and a nice Stickey Toffee button from Elzybells.

I hope you have a great Monday...here's to a great week!! Thanks a bundle for stopping by! Make it great!

Mix it Up!

Happy Saturday friends! I'm happy to get a chance to post today. It's proven to be a very rainy and coldish Saturday morning. My baby was ready for a nap and my husband and other 2 kidlets are at my son's baseball game...and I thought I'd let everything else wait and sit down for a little mommy time...yea!! I've got my last class this Tuesday with my students at the elementary and we're making stuff for Father's Day. This stamp screams "Father's Day" wouldn't you say!?

The stamp is from the May Monthly Mix "Wish Big"....it's such a fun mix of images!! Speaking of the mix, today LAD is doing a GREAT promotion for any of you that are contemplating becoming a Mix Member...you can check out the details about the fun promotion today here. I'm excited that I have already played along with Jen's SFYTT! I NEVER get the sketch done on the day it's posted...yea!
For this card, I milled through an "all boy" paper pack from MME that has a great supply of more subtle and masculine papers. I loved this stripe...and it is turned out perfect for this card. I used some Brocade Blue, Bravo Burgandy(I think that is my first time ever using this color...bravo jen!!)and Certainly Celery cardstock from SU for my colors. I colored my tool box with copics. I pulled out some brads from my stash that have been waiting for their time in the spotlight for WAY too long...and they are perfect!!

Hope your day is great...thanks so much for stopping by! I'm hoping this week will prove to help me return to my "normal"...my daughter's neck is MUCH better and that is helping her be her happy little self again. Here's to a great productive Saturday!! Make it great!

Elzybells Release Day!

Good morning friends! I hope you've had a great week. I know I sound like a broken record, but where in the world did the week go!? How can it be Thursday!? We had a great busy birthday yesterday for my husband...amazing what fun a 4 rolls of crate paper, 25 blown up balloons, and 5 bottles of silly string will do for a party!:) We had a lot of fun.

It's fun to have fun new stamps to be able to work with, and this cute "Hero" stamp set proved no less than fun! My kids are already foaming at the mouth to get a chance to make some fun things for daddy...here's to many more super heros!!
I used some paper from a MME paper pack with a load of stars on it for the main background of this card. I think of stars and super heros, so here is "My Super Dad!" I think that is going to have to be some sort of badge come Father's Day...hmmm...)
I also really wanated a "Superman" type card...and loved the outcome of this simple clean card. One layer really does this daddy good!! I'm excited to make a special card with this super hero for my Dad for Father's Day and can't wait to see what my kids create!
Be sure to head over to the Elzybells Store today to get your fill on all the fun new images avaliable today! Thanks so much for stopping by friends! Have a great one!

Best Birdies...

Good morning friends! Happy Wednesday to you all!! Today is a day we've been looking forward to for a while now. For beginners, it's my husband's birthday and with 3 little kids, birthdays are your very "special" day. So we're in for some fun today! Secondly my husband is going to my son's school to be a "watch dog" today...helping in his class etc. all the day long...my son can't even contain his excitement! My husband is bringing cupcakes for the class, since it is his birthday and my son just can't think of anything better happening today! So much fun to have small people around!:)

Today is the third day of sneak peeks from the new Elzybells release that will happen tomorrow! I've got a couple of cards to share with the cuteness of the "Best Birdies"...here we go!
For this first card, I used some retired dsp from SU, I love the color combo-kiwi green, basic gray, and baja breeze blue! I wanted to keep the birds in "outline" like the background paper...thus their little white bodies. I love this little saying....it makes me happy, that's for sure! I had a couple of good friends stop by today to visit with me and it was wonderful to take time out of my crazy day to talk about weighter matters, things that really matter in the end...it was a great reminder of why I do what I do everyday. I'm going to pop this little number in the mail and thank my friends for taking the time to visit me today...love good friends! The sentiment and birds are both in the Best Birdie stamp set.
This card will find it's way into the other of the 2 friend's mailboxes that stopped by today. I love this paper, also retired SU. Pumpkin pie orange, pink pirouette and chocolate chip...delicous!! I stacked my little birdies up and then colored them. The sentiment is also found in the Best Birdie set that will be avaliable tomorrow!!
I hope you have a great one! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Make it a great one!!

Elzybells Sneak Peeks Day 2

Good morning! I hope you are all having a good week thus far. I'm playing catch up still, almost there but I've got a class this afternoon that I'm still not 100% ready for, so I'm in a bit of a "hurry" mode this morning.

Today is day 2 of the fun Elzybells Sneak Peeks! I'm sharing some fun images from the Best Birdies stamp set, avaliable this Thursday. I love the collection of these little birdies that I'm growing, they are so fun!
I remembered I had this fun cosmo cricket birdie paper...isn't it fun with the image!? The stripe is also from cosmo cricket. I used some Summer Sunrise and Melon Berry (pti) cardstock and a little Certainly Celery (su) for my grass.I colored my birds with my copics. I used my medium scallop die from pti to make my top and bottom scallops. I used a bit of ruffly ribbon (su) and tulle for my ribbon detail. And my button is one I just added in my collection from "Downtown McKinny TX!" I got an old vintage ball jar full of vintage button while I was in TX and I'm loving what I've found thus far in the jar! I used a sketch from Caardvarks for my layout on this card.
For this second card, I used another fun image from the Best Birdies set. I stamped the flowers a couple of times to make a longer focal point and then colored them with my copics. I used some brown sparkly fluff in the center of the flowers. My paper is cosmo cricket and my ribbon is su. I made the little flowers with my 1/2, 3/4, and 1" circle punches. This layout was also inspired by a Caardvarks sketch.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you are enjoying the fun by checking the other Elzybells' work...we're all enjoying the new stamps! Take care and make it great!!

Lizzie Anne Design Team Challenge (post #2)

Good morning friends! I hope you're having a good Monday! I'm back with my post #2 for today. The Lizzie Anne Design Team challenge for this month was packaging. I was thinking a little fun treat for my girlfriend would make a good challenge for me. I bought some Moose Munch popcorn treats...yum. I wanted to give her a fun package, so this is what I came up with!:)
I used my circle scissor cutter from SU to make the larger taken with teal circles, or the "body" of my purse. I used my scallop circle bigz die and my big shot to cut the American Crafts flower paper and then my circle scissor again for my smaller two circles. (I do enjoy that cutter!!) The flower stamp that I used to make my little tulips is from the February Monthly Mix "Singing In the Rain". I colored my tulips with copics, then made my grass from some olive cardstock and my MS grass border punch. I stamped my Thanks for Everything stamp and then used my large oval and scallop oval punches to make it look just right!!

This is a side view of my little "popcorn purse". I used a piece of cardstock to mount the popcorn bag(cello filled) onto, and also to attach the sides of my purse to. I just made the back out of the large taken with teal circle and the scalloped flower paper. I tied the cello bag up with some pti lavender ribbon and then tied a bit of tulle around the open sides of the purse...if that makes sense!:)
It was a fun little something to give to my girlfriend for helping me with my kids while I was gone...and I did pick up a fun little something for her in TX...so maybe I'll get some other fun packaging while I'm getting it ready...we'll see!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Make it a great one!

Elzybells Sneak Peeks! (post #1)

Good morning friends! I've had a few days away...I went on a surprise trip to Dallas, TX to have a little "Mother/Daughter/Sister" time with my three sisters and my mom...it was heaven!! I am so thankful to have such wonderful sisters and the best momma ever!! My sisters are and became even more this weekend, my bestest friends! We had a wonderful time in TX, but you know I'm ready for some good sleep!:)

Today is a fun day, Elzybells is staring a few days of Sneak Peeks...for the fun release that will happen this Thursday! Stay tuned, it's a lot of fun coming your way!! I'm using some fun images for my sneaks today...these cute little birds are "Romeo and Juliet" aren't they so fun!? I paired this first card up with the "Happy Anniversary" sentiment that will also be released this week.
I used Basic Grey paper for my colors on this card...loved the blue with the orange/yellow paper. I colored my images with copics and layered them on some Summer Sunrise cs from PTI. I used some misc. ribbons along the edge for some fun detail and then stamped the sentiment along the bottome. The orange pearls are from kaisercrafts.

This second card is the same image, just made with different colors and a bit different layout. I used some cosmo cricket paper, some fluffy vanilla ribbon from SU, my copics and a sweet whipped cream button from Elzybells. Oh, let's not forget the tulle..just a bit!:)
I've hope you enjoy the sneak peeks...this release is just like the others, really fun!! You'll love Elizabeth's offerings this month!!
I've got anoher post that for today, so be sure to check it out too! Lizzie Anne Design Team challenge is being posted today...lots of fun for sure!! So, be sure to get both posts in today:)
Thanks for stopping by! I'm greatly looking forward to returning to daily posts...while my daughter has been hurt it's just been a bit too much go get into my day! I'm way behind on my reader...but I'm hoping to do some blurffing this week! Take care and make it great!

Thinking of You

Good morning friends! I hope all is well...and that you're in for a wonderful weekend!! With all the rain that we've been "enjoying" to bring us our wonderful May flowers, this little umbrella card just made me happy!! It is the card I made for the Cardabilities Sketch #3! If you hop over to the Cardabilities Blog, you'll see a bunch of fun from the DT...and a lot of fun! I love this sketch, and am sure it will be referred to again and again.

I used my Scattered Showers Stamps from PTI for this card. I also used my fun new Dotty Biscotti patterend paper, also from PTI. I lvoe this image...what a perfect umbrella! I stamped the handle with brown ink onto the white square, then stamped my sentiment. I stamped the top of the umbrella onto the dotty biscotti paper, then cut it out and attached it with dimensionals to the handle. I mounted the umbrella layer onto Hawiian Shores paper and then added some Hawiian Shores buttons to the corner.

My card is a white base, Hawiian Shores layer and then another dotty biscotti layer. I used my scallop dies from PTI to make my white scallop across the card, then tied a nice Hawiian Shores twill ribbon.

I hope you enjoy seeing all the fun things the Cardabilities DT has to share...it's a great team for sure! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great one!

Elzybells DT Challenge

Good morning friends! I hope you are doing well!! I've got some fun to share today!:) The challenge for today with the Elzybells DT was to decorate a doorhanger! With my daughter being a bit under the weather still, but YEA for improving every day, I decided to make her a little something happy for her door.
I covered my hanger with Crushed Curry dsp from SU. I used my Basic Grey file to help me get the circle perfect...I love that file set! I used my medium scallop die from PTI to make my Raspberry Fizz scallops, just a double layer of them and then a strip of curry ribbon. I stamped my beautiful little"Birdbath" image and colored it with copics. I used my oval nestabilites and new large scallop oval nesties to cut my large ovals. I stamped the sentiment "Beautiful Day" and then used my large oval and scallop oval punches to punch them out. I used some yummy tulle and curry ribbon with a Raspberry Fizz button to tie a little something to the hanger and then finished it all off with some pink rhinestones from kaisercrafts.

I hope you get a chance to take a peek at the other DT's work today...it's always a fun thing to see what everyone does with each challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make it a great one!!

Hello!?

Hello friends! How are you all doing!? We're doing better. My "Nurse Mommy" responsibilites have lightened a little, and my daughter is FINALLY feeling some relief. The pain is still there, but she is finally feeling impovement! She has slept all night for two nights now, and even can get out of bed(my bed:)) on her own. I'm feeling such relief that she is finally starting to be herself again. She is wearing her brace 24/7 and that really is making a great difference. We start physical therapy next week...and hopefully will be fully recovered soon!! Thanks for your well wishes...it made her happy to know there were people thinking about her!

So, I feel like last week just flew by, and I didn't get a chance to sit at my desk at all...but I have a card class today at the elementary school and HAD to sit down for a few...it felt so good! This is one of the cards we'll be making today.
The images are from this month's Monthly Mix, "Dream Big". It's full of fantastic images...and we will be using 3 of them on this card today. The background butterflies are so cute...the stamp has 4 of those cute butterfiles on it and I just stamped it over and over again on the curry paper to make a nice subtle background. Then the flower image is stamped in curry (and has butterflies in it...love that!) and the sentient was stamped with Melon Mambo ink. I layered the flower on curry then mambo cardstock and then mounted it on my strip of dsp from SU. I can' remember the name of this paper...but it goes along with the Razzle Dazzle stamp set. I added some fun flowers cut with my Big Shot and embossed with my swiss dots folder. Then the button is from my raspberry fizz(pti) collection.

I used last week's LAD sketch challenge for my layout. I wanted to play along with the sketch for the week, and realized that I totally missed last week's challenge. So, here is my take on last week's sketch. I have a card for this week's sketch that I'll share tomorrow. You can find the sketches here, on the LAD blog.

It felt so good to pick up some paper and stamps today...YEA!! I'll be back...thanks a bundle for stopping by!! Take care and make it great!!

Nurse Mommy

Good morning friends. I didn't fall off the face of the planet, my little 5 year old daughter got hurt at school monday and her injury has gotten progressively worse. I took her to the dr. yesterday am to find out anything at all, and he did have answers and a neck brace. Someone was reading a book whilst walking and the open book hit my daughter in the neck. It wasn't a big deal until a few hours after she got home...and then the pain started!! We've been doing the warm compress, laying down, ibuprofen/tylenol, etc...and she's just in a lot of pain. We did have a slightly better night last night...but it was only slightly better than the night before. SO, she has been needing my attention every moment of the day and night too:) since Monday afternoon.

The dr. said that her little muscle(sincerely can't remember it's name) was having a spasam and that it will get better. It might take her a week to get there, but it will get better...YEA! It's so hard to see a little one in so much pain and feel so helpless as to giving her comfort! She's being brave and really being fantastic. She's not got much desire for food and can't get enough water...thank goodness for bendy straws!! She can't lift her head off her pillow, so the bendy straw saves the day!!

I'll keep you dear ones posted, and hopefully we'll be able to start sprinkling in some time with stamps...when mommy nurse duty calls, everything else just has to wait!! Thanks for being patient and supportive!
So, how about some Cutting Cafe fun!? I used some great images from the Beautiful Blooms printable stamp set. I think this plant would make a great addition to my kitchen window don't you!? oh to have a vase like this!! I used some Basic Grey paper for my color inspiration along with lemon tart and new leaf cardstock. I colored my plant with copics and used my oval punches on my sentiment.

Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for your concern and well wishes....it's so wonderful to have fantastic friends!!:) See you soon! Make it a great one!

The Post that wasn't

So, you know when you use the auto "publish" option on blog posts while you're out of town, such a fantastic feature...except when it doesn't do what it should! So, let's rewind to Friday April 30th, post #2 for today!:)

Today is the 2nd reveal for the Cardabilities Design Blog! Be sure to head over, if you haven't already to see the great samples the Design Team came up with...and you're sure to have some fun!!
I used a new image from the LAD May Monthly Mix, Dream Big and I have to say, I LOVE this image!! Aren't those little birds too cute!? I paired them up with some great paper and some copics...yep, and a tuft of tulle!:)

Hope you enjoy the reveal...and hey, why not try the sketch yourself?! I hope you had a great weekend! We had a good one...and hope for a great week to come! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Make it great!
