Toothfairy boxes

My son has now lost his first two teeth, and having all the fun things I have, we decided to make him a box to put his tooth in when he places it under his pillow...awaiting the arrival of the tooth fairy. He wanted me to make one for his little friends at school, one of which just moved back to England yesterday! But wouldn't this make a fun litle thing for her to remember us by! So, that was the brainstorm for these little boxes (which oddly enough, are all girl boxes, we're still working on the boy box!:)).
This first box (yes, these are altoid tins), is for my daughter. She isn't old enough to be loosing teeth yet, but has a "thing" for necklaces, braclets and rings...so here is her box for her "jewels" as she calls the lot of them! I simply traced the altoid tin to make a template for cutting the patterned paper (summer picnic...surprised?!), and cut two pieces, one for the top and bottom. I attached the paper with my ATG gun, and it sticks wonderfully.

I sanded the edges a bit with my sanding block. The template I used didn't come out 100% perfectly, so the sanding block is great to get the paper right to the edge, no hang over and it looks great! Next, I used the old olive twill ribbon (occasions mini), and put it through the little xyron "x" sticker maker and attached it around the lid of the tin (see photo #2). I then cut a piece of the patterned paper just shy of 1/2" to put around the sides of the tin-(the pumpkin pie polk-a-dot in pic. #2). I also opened the tin and lined the top and bottom with coordinating cardstock.

The Fairy is from Lizzie Anne Designs. I stamped her on WW cardstock with black palette ink and colored her with Stampin' Up! markers in bashful blue, pumpkin pie, blush blossom, and creamy caramel. I then lined her wings with a two-way glue pen and glittified her wings with dazzling diamonds! (I use a lot of glitter..and will always love my upline for giving me the best tip! I opened the jar of glitter and put it in a plastic ziplock container. I also keep a plastic spoon in the tub. Then when I neeed to "glitify" something, I just open the lid, spoon the glitter over the object to be glitified and then shake excess back into the tub! I don't get glitter all over the place anymore...and I don't waste any! Then I just put the spoon back and put the lid on and no glitter on my table, or in my ink pads..and maybe just a tiny bit on my face (but that's because I love it!!)).

The punches I used for the fairy and the blue scallop were the marvy uchida oval and scallop oval (pink and purple sizes). Lucy's name was made with AC mini marks rubons. The flower is from the Flower Fusion set by Stampin' Up! and the little brad is a bashful blue one from the soft subtle brads, also Stampin' Up!
So here is Ellie's box. She loves pink so we used this paper, by paper studio I believe. This box has real red grosgrain ribbon along the lid. I used real red, regal rose, blush blossom, and creamy caramel for coloring her. Glitified her wings with dazzling diamonds...and so on. Her flower is a prima flower with a real red brad inside. By the way, I used Mini glue dots to attach the flowers.
Here is Ruby's tin. We used the summer picnic paper, pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon around the lit...and you know the rest!

These little tins came together really quickly...and they were a hit! Now I'll have to start collecting altoid tins again...I've got several ideas for these little boxes for my kids! When I get the boy tins we're working on I'll share them to! I've got to hurry on them, Myles just told me that his top tooth is loose!! Since he isn't really "into" faries (yea!), he decided he wanted an "spaceman" so we'll see what we can come up with! Thanks for stopping by! Have a super duper day! Oh, and if you are at all interested in ordering these little tins, drop me a line!!

These boxes sure are a hit . . . absolutely adorable. I can't wait for my grand nephew and niece to start losing teeth so I can try these. It will be awhile since they are just getting teeth!

Awww, these are adorable! I bet the kids will love them. We have yet to start with the Tooth Fairy here but we're probably getting very close.
