I've been having so much fun!

So, I've been working on a card order for one of my friends, the same friend I mentioned I'm making Christmas cards for in my last post. So, that's what I've been up to this past week! She wanted 30 cards, and boy, I had a great time!! I'll get to all of what I made, but some of them are images that I can't show you yet...let's just say that you'll LOVE them!! On October 4th, World Card Making Day, Lizzie Anne Designs will start their next release...you'll not want to miss this one!! There will be all sorts of fun at Lizzie Anne Designs on that day, so don't miss it! You'll love their new stuffs!!

So, back to my card order, I made some thank you cards, birthday, and Christmas. Here is one of the Thank you cards that I loved...I grabbed an 8x8 stack of paper at the SEI outlet this summer...LOVE it!! I love the sliver foil...and the center of the flowers are colored in with a silver pen...fun. The flower punch is one that I found in the dollar spot at target! It is such a cute little size...to all of you that get to target on a weekly, if not daily, basis, say hey for me! I miss it!! The card went like this: card base of bayou blue-a retired SU color, that I just found out I LOVE! I'm so glad that I still have a stash of that color...it looks so good with the Baja Breeze this year! So, Bayou Blue card, layer of Baja Breeze cardstock, two strips of paper from SEI, and a thank you so much stamp from the Far East stamp set, from LAD. Then the branch (also from Far East) was stamped in Burnt Umber ink (palette ink), and then covered with the punched out flowers. I went through a couple of different methods for attaching the flowers, they are SO tiny! I finally decided that the best way was mini glue dots, can you ever have enough of them!! I mounted the branch on a base of Kiwi Kiss, that had been scalloped with the Scallop Edge punch (su). And finally, the last touch was the chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon. I love this color combination!! I think it will be one that I keep coming back to!!
So, I was thinking of how to package the cards..and came across a mini magazine holder on Michelle Wooderson's blog Mish Mash, and she noted the place she found the tutorial, Inking Idaho, and I thought it would be perfect to try! So, I tried it, and the original template is super cute, but a tad too small for full sized cards, so I played around a little bit and made a magazine holder that fits 10 standard size cards and 10 envelopes. I made a little holder for each of the sets of cards for my friend's order! The little magazine holders have a ton of potential, and you could decorate them super cute! I left the a bit "clean" with just a scalloped piece of paper and a tag...I was so excited about how they turned out!! I will edit this post with the measurements I used for my magazine holder box, maybe a turorial?, we'll see.

Anyway, just wanted to share!! Hope you are all doing great and that you are enjoying this first day of Fall!! Thanks for stopping by and make it a great one!!

Fantastic Ideas for holiday gifts!! I love the holders ~ its those type things that turn homemade into "hand crafted!"I found your site and am so appreciative of the shared ideas and inspiration! Could you share or give an idea for pricing? I've been approached by people who'd like to order cards from me. Some want special invitations/thank-yous etc. I always feel uncomfortable when it comes to pricing. I am often almost apologetic and usually charge much less than I know I would pay elsewhere. Basically a loss with my time and effort. Any rule of thumb you would recommend?
